He sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "I'm not a very good actor," he said quietly. "But I'll do my best."
"No," she said, her voice somewhat sharp, before softening. "Don't act for me, okay? I'm not going to stop trying until you're happy. Actually happy. I don't care how long it takes."
She pursed her lips. "Not like that.. Can we just.. not be so uncertain? And maybe trust me a little more?"
She frowned, taking a breath. "God.. This is hard. Just.. Trust me, okay? It's hard. I know it's hard, but try to trust me more?"
He hesitated and she would be able to tell that it went against every fiber of his being when he nodded. "Okay."
She watched him carefully, her eyes intense. "And.. And I don't want you to say things you don't mean.. So don't say 'I love you' or anything if you don't mean it."
