"It is," he agreed. "I feel like I've been with you forever. I mean, I have a crush on my best friend."
"I don't care about that," she said. "I just care that you didn't tell me in the first place. Best friends tell each other things."
"Well, we weren't best friends at first, though. And it'd be kinda awkward to be like, 'hey, my name is actually Tucker.'"
"I guess. I mean, I had thought we built up a level of trust, but I guess not." She raised an eyebrow playfully.
"I left that name behind, Avice," he said quietly, taking her hand. "I have been Jack for almost a decade now. It's who I am."
She squeezed hand, then leaned forward to kiss his cheek. "I fell in love with you. Nothing could change that. Not even a name."
He turned to intercept her lips with his own, and he rested his hand on the back of her head. "I love you too," he murmured.
She smiled against his lips, and laughed when they pulled away. "Oh gosh. This is so crazy. I can't believe it's happening."
He chucked, and then wiggled his fingers at her. "It isn't happening..," he said in a ghostly moan. "This is all a dreaaaaaam..."
She kissed him deeply, one hand resting on the back of his neck and the other grazing his jaw. When pulled away, she grinned brightly. "So you're telling me that wasn't real?"
He looked at her, obviously a little in awe. There was a slight pink flush on his cheeks and he cleared his throat. "Ahem. That... uh... that was definitely real."
"Rohesia," he said, chuckling and shaking his head. "You're much more daring than I would have thought."
