"No, you're not," he said dramatically, shifting so that his head was on her lap next to Aubrey. The baby looked down at him and patted his cheekbones, tears still running down her face.
"You should," he said, closing his eyes and leaning into her touch. "I want to hear your opinion, no matter how wrong it is."
His nose crinkled with his smile and he opened one eye to look up at her with a grin. "Perfect. Much better."
