He blinked in surprise before kissing her back, the hand that wasn't holding Aubrey coming up to rest on her jaw.
She pulled away, watching him with gentle eyes. Her hand brushed his cheek. "I was terribly worried, you know.."
Her thumb brushed his cheekbone and she sighed, observing him. "You're okay," she murmured. "My love is okay. That's all that matters."
His eyes shifted to hers and a small smile played on his lips. He took her hand in his and kissed her knuckles. "I don't know what I'd do without you, you know."
He tilted his head, listening carefully before kissing the tip of her nose. "Well, luckily, we're probably safer on here than we have been for a long time."
Her hand ran through his hair as she hesitated. "Sometimes I think about the time before we were together." She smiled slightly. "You used to be so flustered around me. I'm not sure why I think of it. I'm much happier with you. It's just nice to think about at times."
"I still get flustered around you," he admitted. "You make me lose my train of thought constantly." He paused before giving her an almost shy smile. "You make a fool out of me, Av."
She looked down with embarrassment, a grin on her face. "Could you.. Could you sing to me? You don't have to.."
He seemed taken aback, but he gave her a tentative smile. "Al...alright. What would you like me to sing?"
He cleared his throat almost nervously before running his fingers through her hair and kissing her forehead. He began to sing quietly, a slow, sweet love song that worked well with his low voice. "When I fall in love it will be forever Or I'll never fall in love In a restless world like this is..."
She stole a glance at him, her expression could only be described as puppy love, her eyes completely filled with adoration.
His eyes were hazy and he didn't seem to notice her glance, his gaze drifting lethargically as his fingers brushed through her hair instinctively. "Love is ended before it's begun And too many moonlight kisses Seem to cool in the warmth of the sun..."
