“You did it already, though,” he said vaguely, picking at the edge of the frayed blanket. “Remember? You left me for that long, long, long time. I thought you’d never come back.”
“I don’t believe in ghosts,” he declared before casting a furtive glance around the room. “You don’t think they’re listening right now, do you?”
“Good. I don’t think I’d like to be surrounded by ghosts.” He paused before frowning, grabbing the pillow. “I bet I could float on this.”
