"Is she cross with me?"
She shook her head. "I don't think so."
"Have you ever seen her cross?"
She frowned. "Yeah. Not many times, though."
"She's terrifying."
"A little bit."
“She’s going to rule the world one day, and we’ll just have to deal with it.”
"You think?"
“I know.”
She kissed his hair. "Can't argue with that."
“Mm,” he murmured, obviously exhausted. “I have mind-defying logic.”
She sighed. "You should probably sleep."
“Sleep,” he said slowly, sighing. “I was just sleeping.”
"Well.. Are you tired?"
"I'm tired of sleeping. I'm tired of being sick."
She looked around the room. "Well.. Would you like to play chess?"
He blinked before giving her a slow smile. "I would love that."
She set Aubrey down before standing up, going to find the chess board.
He poked Aubrey's belly, kissing her cheek
Avice found it a moment later, returning to him and setting it up.
