“Well, we should really keep it to a week to be sure...”
She groaned before brightening slightly. "Now I can spend more time with Aubrey."
“Yes,” he agreed. “She’d love that.”
She grinned. "And that way you don't have to carry her around."
“I happen to like doing that. It gives me a workout.”
"You don't even need a workout, babe."
“Sure I do. Gotta keep my body working.”
She laughed, kissing his cheek. "Keep it looking good?"
“Or, you know. Presentable.”
"You always look presentable in my eyes, baby."
“You’re sweet.”
"I love you."
He gave her a small smile. “I love you too.”
Her hand reached up to graze his jaw. "You're so handsome."
He blinked in surprise, but said nothing, keeping his mouth closed.
She kissed his cheek before resting her head on his shoulder.
He sighed, glancing over at her. “Sorry.”
She looked up. "What for?"
“The compliment thing.”
