"Tough day, son?" the bartender asked kindly, pouring him a whisky. *** Natalia began heading back towards the docks. "I am returning to the ship," she said. "Jack will bring the rowboat back, and you may explore the town until nightfall, when you will meet at the docks. Enjoy yourselves." Natalia departed, and soon disappeared in the crowd. * * * Jade left almost immediately, returning to the inn to investigate the instruments, and maybe get her hands on a fiddle. Ellia joined the audience, hoping to get into the dance. (Go off from here. We can do a time skip if need be. Also, I have a challenge for you! If your character was in a movie, who would play them? Leave a picture in the spoiler tags.)
"Oh, I see," said the bartender. He poured Jared another cup. "Drink up," he said, "no one deserves a headache during the festival."
Jared picked up the glass and tilted it towards the bartender before downing the drink again. "That is some strong stuff... what is it?"
"Just whiskey," the bartender said, shrugging. "Sure to knock out any headache, and replace it with another one ten hours later. How long you in Urela for?"
"Just for the night... Captain needed to talk to someone, left, and we're here for the 'festivities' as you would say..."
"She?" he asked. "Not many female captains nowadays, and even fewer secretive ones." He shrugged and placed the newly cleaned mug on a shelf. "More whiskey?"
The whiskey sloshed over the cup's rim as he refilled the glass. He wiped down the counter, and served a few more customers, his brow furrowed as he worked. He kept a clean area, and he quickly returned to Jared. "So, has your ship been registered with the docks yet?"
Jared stopped in the middle of drinking his whiskey. "We came by row-boat... The captain had important matters on the ship and only came here to talk to someone so the ship is elsewhere..." He tried to keep their reasoning here as secret as possible.
"I will." Jared finished the rest of his drink, stood up and left, tossing a few gold coins onto the bar before leaving.
Jade, in the meantime, had been investigating the fiddle that the string players were playing with. She wasn't interested in stealing it, but she was fascinated by how old they were, and how they might change from her viola. The players had been friendly, and they even let her play a few bars. Regretfully, she had to give it back to its owner, and left the inn, her interest gone.
Avice had taken the time to get her art supplies before leaving the ship, so she was set. After they had finished the official business at the inn, she had searched for a high building, shielding the sun from her eyes. Once her destination was located she climbed her way up, utensils in hand. Albeit the location wasn't the shadiest, it gave her great view of Urela. She set the canvas in her lap and began drawing and painting. She changed the color scheme of morning to night, with illuminated lights radiating from the town, overlooked by a soft yellow moon and dark sky.
Natalia got back onto the ship, and Jack helped her up. "How did it go?" Jack asked. "We need to find a man named Rhys in Norlure," Natalia responded primly. "Now, go out there. I know you're desperate for some fun." Jack smiled, shook his head, and loaded the ship to leave. *** Urela was an easily excitable town, Jack thought. They seemed to have holidays every other week. He got off at the docks, and stared into the town ahead of him. He paused for a moment, and then turned and went into the beach. It was less crowded here, with a few families and their children, but few others. He sat on a piece of driftwood, and gazed out into the water.
After an amount of minutes, Avice looked at her work. It was half done but she decided she could finish it later on the ship. She climbed down and head back towards the row-boat placing her painting there for later and safe-keeping. (And that question. No clue. Although all celebrities gotta look 10/10.)
Jack saw movement by the rowboat, and he squinted trying to see who it was. When he saw that it was Avice, he relaxed, and he stood up, brushing the sand from his palms. He walked over, stopping only for a moment to give a stray beach dog a scratch behind the ears. "Having fun?" he asked her when he approached. Spoiler: Picture of Natalia Alexis Bledel is the closest I could find. Imagine no smiling, and less blue and more white-ish eyes.
Avice jumped slightly, then turned towards him. "Definitely. What about you?" She asked, with a half grin.
