He shrugged, and faced the water. "It's lovely here, but I always feel like a tourist," he admitted. He turned to her with a bright grin. "I guess that's because I am, huh?"
Jared wandered the streets of Urela and watched the party-goers pass by. He was feeling a little tipsy but it was nothing stopping him from thinking properly. He was feeling a bit more lively and smiled as paper streamers and confetti shower upon him and cling to his clothing. He watched a large group of people go past, heading towards the beach. He saw 2 figures by a boat but couldn't recognise them properly due to the alcohol.
He smiled, and turned to look into town, where the pathways were being cleared for some kind of parade. "Sure," he said. "Let's go. Hopefully the others aren't too drunk."
Cobiah wandered through the busy streets, until he took a turn along a shady alleyway, and met a suspicious man bearing a worn Seatone Family seal on his coat. "It is strange that you come meet me here during the festivities, Seatone. What have you brought me?" Asked the man in a hoarse voice. "I have information regarding the pirates. And this time, don't pass it on to my father." "As you wish." "The crew of the Calypso is heading to Rhys Plinx, Norlure to find the island of Fawelore. I want to be a step ahead of Natalia at all times, so keep eyes and ears in as many local gatherings as you can. Deploy two to three clippers to trail the Calypso on the way there, but do not engage in combat unless they see a green flare go off above the ship." "Yes sir. I'll get these plans into motions as soon as possible. And, be careful with your father. I won't tell him anything, as per my orders, but he's going to suspect something." "I am well aware of that. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to meet back up with the crew."
Avice chuckled and began walking away from the small boat. "Looks like something fun is gonna happen," she said, and grinned brightly.
(God damn it Cobiah.) Jack nodded, glancing over the heads of the crowd. "Maybe a parade? There's lots of costumes." Almost in response, a large drum began to pound out a beat, and music began playing. Dancers walked onto the street, swirling colorful skirts, and leaving trails of flower petals. The music was intoxicating, and soon the audience was swaying to the song as a whole, with cheers as the dancers kicked and flipped with extraordinary ease. (Everyone should start to meet around here if possible.)
The crowd was now beginning to join into the parade, which seem to be a common practice and Urela. Some members of the audience were simply elegant in their movements, gliding like birds across the cobblestones. Others, however, looked as though they were having a pest problem; their hands flapped in the air and the kicked their legs out and they spin furiously. Dance, it seemed, was not for everyone. Performers of the original routine were now inviting hesitant audience members, and one grabbed the hand of Avice and tugged her in. (Here's hoping that Avice can dance!)
(Oh, I hope so too!) Avice let out a small yelp of surprise. She then let out a burst of laughter before mimicking their dance moves smoothly. Hopefully copying them wouldn't lead to her embarrassment. "Hey, hey! That's fun!" She said, and looked around for Jack.
Jack was still in the audience, chuckling. Avice danced well, but the yelp had startled Jack as well, making him make a sort of congested, confused noise that a bear might make when stung by a bee.
Jack shook his head rapidly, looking nervous and trying to blend back into the crowd. His hair flopped over his eyes as he ducked his head.
Avice chuckled a bit and started towards where she last saw him, dodging any kicks and slaps. She jutted her elbows out, hoping to get some people to step back and out of her space.
Avice soon found herself face-to-face with Jack, and his eyes twinkled with a mad sort of ferocity. He was already shaking his head before he spoke. "I swear to God, Avice Rohesia, if you make me go out there, I will kick, scream, and run. I've been told that I'm very good at all three."
Avice's smile just grew wider and more mischievous as she grabbed his hands and pulled him out of the crowd. Her strong grip was followed by an expression that could only be taken as a challenge.
Jack's hands were calloused. Working hands, they had grown tough against the ropes and sword handles he dealt with. However, they were warm, and they were reluctantly pulled out of the audience. . "Avice, I don't think you understand how bad I am at this," Jack growled, as he was led by the small pirate into the group of performers. He doubted anyone would notice his clumsiness, but his face flushed in advance embarrassment.
Avice made a funny expression, then shook her head. "Just copy them and it'll be fine! I usually dance as well as a dolphin swims on land, but you can learn a lot by observing." That comical and crooked grin returned to her lips as she prompted him to join her in dancing.
He started to sway with the beat slightly, and he watched the other dancers and tried to follow them, but there was one tiny problem. He was not good at dancing. It was strangely endearing in a weird way, because he truly was trying, and he was not as bad as the thrashing dancers, perhaps, but he looked like he was expecting pain at any moment, and his movements were stiff and he often just got lost with the other dancers. "I think I hate you," he muttered as he tried to match some waving hand gestures. "Urela is the worst place on Earth."
Avice chuckled lightly, and looked around for a moment. "You're just saying that... Let's just go back to the docks then, since it's sooo much better there," she said with a hint of sarcasm at the end, and disappeared back into the wild depths of the crowd.
