"Yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum!" he sang, adopting the stereotypical growly voice of a sailor. At that moment, a dark haired cabin boy known commonly as Mouse ran up to the two of them. "Miss Rohesia! The Cap'n wants to see you for questioning." (Everyone! When this day is over, I think we'll do a time skip to the next city! If @Scarecrow isn't around to join, we'll skip Maydye, and head on our way. Does that work?)
Avice stood straight again. "Ah. Alright." She turned to Jack. "I'll be right back." She made her way to the Captains quarters nervously, knocking on the door before entering.
Natalia's room was a little more cluttered than usual. Books were off the bookshelf, several empty inkwells sat, and her cot looked suspiciously unslept in. She sat at her desk, facing an open window on the left side of her room. The cool air stirred her hair as she looked up at Avice. "Miss Rohesia, thank you for joining me." She finished writing a couple notes in a hardcover grey notebook, and then closed it, and stood up, drumming her fingers on the cover, lost in thought. After a moment, she sighed and then turned to look at the girl in front of her. She pushed her hair back, and folded her arms. "Miss Rohesia, obviously you have heard about the attack on Jade. How are you enjoying your partnership?"
Avice held her hands behind her back, standing tall. "The partnership is going well. My jobs seem to be going by faster now that I have a partner. As for the attack... It's infuriating that someone would attack a fellow crew-member." She replied smoothly and calmly.
Natalia nodded slowly, considering her words. "So, please tell me where you were during the attack? What were you doing?"
"During the attack? I was in the dining area, chatting with some people, and uh," Avice chuckled nervously, "A little drunk, but still in my senses."
"I see," Natalia said, making a quick note in her book. "Do you have anyone who could confirm your alibi?"
(Shoot, that part happened when I hadn't responded.) Avice thought for a bit, "I can't exactly remember who I was talking to. A few of the sailors who were sober that night might recall me being there." This made her somewhat nervous, as she started thinking. What if she couldn't find good enough proof of her innocence? "It was a long night, that one."
(uh huh. sounds like something a MURDERER would say.) "It certainly was," she said, not looking up from her notebook. "So, Avice. Who are you suspicious of?"
(NoOoooOo!) "I'm not... I'm not really suspicious of anyone. I don't really know anyone with ideas to murder someone.."
She laughed lightly. "Well, it's good that you don't make it a habit of socializing with murderers," she said, placing her pen down and looking up at Avice. She sighed, and tugged on a lock of her hair, her hand pale and thin. "Mr. Curnow trusts you, and I trust him with my life, so I will take that into consideration. Thank you. You may leave."
Avice gave a nod. "Thank you." She turned and left, shutting the door behind her. Letting out a deep sigh of relief, she made her way back to Jack. "Hey! I think that actually went pretty well."
Avice gave a blank smile. "I don't know! I'm actually pretty nervous, but she said she that she trusts you, and you trust me, so it might be okay!"
