She paused, looking back over at Maverick shyly. "I could do it when I go in today," she said quietly. "It wouldn't even really be wrong."
"Theresa and I will go to the scene of the crime. I need someone to go look for the blackout cause and someone else to try and find any motives."
She laughed slightly. "Sure. That sounds good." Cassian glanced at Theo, then Sylas, then Fina. "Can I go with you?"
"So, we're agreed?" Theresa asked, sounding resigned, her normally tranquil voice sounding a little more tired than usual. However, there was a small glimmer to her eye that suggested that she was actually excited. "We all know what we're doing?"
Fina looked around cautiously as she pulled the office key out of her pocket. The empty hallways were silent, and she looked over at Cassian, frowning. "I feel bad about this." * * * Monty looked over at Theo as they walked through the halls. “What are we looking for, exactly?” *** Sylas sighed, rolling his neck. “Is this going to take long?” *** Theresa crossed her arms thoughtfully as she followed Maverick. “What are we assigned to, again?”
He tilted his head. "Let's try and get it over with, then." *** "Maybe like a fuse box? Some place that has access to the electricity." *** Lilith looked over at him curiously. "I'm not sure. Hopefully not too long." *** He looked over at her. "Crime scene!"
She sighed before unlocking the door, holding it open for him. *** “Good idea, you beautiful genius.” *** “I’m a very busy guy,” he said, sounding pompous. *** “Oh,” she said dully. “Right.
He stepped in, and looked around curiously. "Thanks." *** She flushed slightly, rolling her eyes. "Let's just find it." *** She raised an eyebrow at him, her expression somewhat playful. "Alright." *** He frowned. "Are you okay?"
The office lights were dark and Fina looked very nervous. "Oh... I don't know. I'm having second thoughts." * * * "Flattery not what you're into?" he teased. * * * He glared at her almost playfully. "I am." * * * "Me? Yeah. I'm tired."
"Well.. We only have to do it once." *** She shrugged slightly. "I dunno.." *** She grinned before looking ahead. "Sure." *** He didn't seem convinced. "Okay."
