Fina looked nervous by this level of study, frowning. "Uh... well.. actually, um, Theo, I was writing about your 'heater' technique," she said, looking at her as if she might react poorly. "Just trying to classify it."
She looked pleased, looking down as the waiter approached with their food. "That Sylas guy really bugs me," Monty said conversationally. "Why does everyone think he's so great?"
Theo looked up, her eyebrow raised thoughtfully. "The only reason anyone likes him is because of his magic." Lilith hesitated. "He kind of scares me."
"You shouldn't be," Monty said, shaking his head. "He's just a demon. He can't help being an utter ass. In fact, Lilith, you could probably beat him up if you wanted."
"You're an angel," he said with a small shrug, taking a drink of his water. "You could smite him or something. "It doesn't quite work like that, Monty," Fina said, shaking her head.
She grinned, looking down at her food. Theo turned to Monty. "You're the one who always gets in trouble for running in the halls, right?" she paused, raising an eyebrow teasingly. "Unless I'm thinking of a different Monty."
"Monty Burgess," he replied goofily, pantomiming lifting the rim of a hat. "At your service. And you're Althea Naia."
She smiled slightly, her expression warm. "That's me. But I go by Theo, as you probably know by now."
