Lilith gave him a look, her brows furrowing slightly. Cassian huffed before pausing. "The field guide. Her field guide might be able to help us."
He paused, frowning. "I.. I'm not sure. Maybe her house? Or maybe it was with her when they found her."
"I don't want to risk getting arrested because of this." She crossed her arms stubbornly. "So I won't be joining."
Theo shook her head. "I'm not." Cassian sighed. "I would rather not as well." Lilith looked uncertain.
She scoffed slightly, and anyone who had seen her on the battlefield would recognize the glint in her eye. "Wow. Okay. Fina's in the hospital right now because she recognized that there was a lot at stake here, and you guys can't even be brave enough to go to a house because you would 'rather not'." She shook her head, clearly seething before jerking her head at Cassian. "I'm surprised at you. I thought you were supposed to be her friend."
He glared at her, raising an eyebrow. His gaze was cold and had a general feeling of distaste. "Who do you think you are?" Theo looked up with a frown. "Cassian.."
"I'm me. The person who's trying to help the girl lying in the hospital right now who gave everything to try and help us figure this out." she retorted flatly. "That's who I am. And you, you're a coward who wouldn't dare endanger his grades or status, even when he's faced with doing what's right. She could die, Cassian, did you ever think of that? She could be declared brain-dead and die, and nothing would have been done."
"You're the reason she is a part of this mess in the first place," he told her coolly. "You're probably doing this to find the killer rather than actually help her. Have you even visited her, or was I the only one who did?"
She rolled her eyes. "Yes, of course I'm trying to find the killer. How exactly would you propose I help her besides from that? Do you think I'm about to rush into the hospital and start playing 'nurse'? Or maybe I should do what you did and sit in a chair for a few hours at a hospital. That'll stop her from dying. This is something that every single one of us has the ability to do and you are walking away from it because when push comes to shove, you don't give a *squee!* about this. You haven't since the beginning. I'm really glad you can pat yourself on the back and feel like a hero while her attacker is still running around, but I'm trying to get something done so that the next time we're in a hospital, we're not visiting you as well."
