She moved faster through the trees, tripping over a root and stumbling to the ground, scraping her knees as she scrambled to her feet. "It's me," she replied, coughing. "I'm... I'm here!" * * * Monty frowned, tilting his head back to look up at the sky. "Theo?! Are you here?" * * * He started running. "I'm over here! What's going on?" * * * Her eyes had lost their pupil, that icy blueness glowing as she leaned against him. She had dirt on her cheek from where she fell and her body was twitching, her arms and legs jerking in response to what she was seeing, making it difficult for her to stand.
He squinted through the darkness. "I'm trying to find you.. Keep following my voice!" *** Apparently they hadn't been separated far as she burst into the clearing he was in. There were tears in her eyes and she ran over to hug him tightly. *** "I.. I don't know," she said, looking a bit lost as she tried to reach him. *** He just held her as he let the moment pass, brushing away the dirt worriedly.
She moved through the trees, looking bewildered. "Okay, okay... keep talking. What happened?" * * * A sigh of relief ripped itself from his chest and he returned her embrace, one arm wrapping around her waist and his free hand resting against the back of her head. "God, Theo, I was so worried." * * * He moved through the trees, squinting. "Can you summon any light, Lil? I can't see anything." * * * After several moments, her body relaxed and Theresa's eyes faded back to their normal color. She swayed dizzily, her gaze falling upon Maverick. "M....Mav...? What's going on....?"
"Ah.." He seemed to have a hard time recalling. "Magic of some kind. Mags... teleported us somewhere?" *** He held him close, her breaths shaky and limbs tremulous. "I know, I'm sorry.. I want to go home." *** She frowned, holding up a hand. A ball of golden light emitted from her palm. "There! Can you see it?" *** He was watching her intensely, his eyes wide. "Are you okay?"
"I guess," Fina said. There was a rustling as she broke through, squinting through the gloom at him. "...Cas?" *** "I know, sweetie," he said quietly, kissing her hair. "But we gotta be brave. Let's go find the others." * * * Sylas picked up the pace, coming into the clearing. "Yeah, that helped. Thanks. You okay?" * * * She nodded, swatting at her face blearily. "Mm...hmmm. It'll pass... where are the..." She tried to move, swaying dangerously. "Where are the others?"
He visibly relaxed, hurrying over to her. "Ah, there you are. Are you okay? Your knees are hurt." *** She nodded slightly, taking his hand with a tense grip. "Okay." *** She went to him, wrapping her arms around him. "I'm terrified! Are you okay?" *** He kept hold of her gently, looking around. "I don't know."
She glanced down in confusion. "Hm? Oh... yeah. I tripped. Still a little clumsy." She looked up at him with a frown, inspecting him. "Are you okay?" * * * He began walking deeper into the woods, leading the way and glancing back every so often to make sure she wasn't panicking. * * * "More confused than anything," he said with a frown, hugging her back. "I don't really remember what happened..." * * * She stumbled and fell back against him, groaning slightly. "Ow... this place is making my head hurt," she grumbled blearily, resting her head in the curve of his neck.
He nodded, offering his hand. "I'm alright. Let's look around." *** She was following closely, looking terrified but staying quiet. *** She shook her head. "I don't really either. I remember.. You were holding onto me." *** He caught her. "It's okay. I've got you. Take a moment."
She took his hand, looking nervous as she glanced around. “I don’t like this...” *** He draped an arm over her shoulder and spoke quietly in her ear. “It’s just like when we walk through the woods at night. Just like that.” *** He looked confused. “Well, yeah. I thought it was going to hurt us.” *** “Where are the others...?” she mumbled, closing her eyes sleepily.
"I don't either. Do you know if the others are here?" *** She relaxed slightly and nodded. "Yeah.. Just like that." *** "No, I know," she clarified. "That's just the last thing I remember." *** He frowned, looking around. "I don't know."
“I don’t,” she replied, looking around nervously. “Where are we? Are we still on Earth?” *** “Let’s call for the others. Who would you want to find first?” *** “Oh. Well... maybe we should look for the others?” *** She stumbled forward, drawing her sword. It shimmered with moonlight as she started moving forward, casting warm white light into the darkness. “Onwards!”
He frowned, looking around. "I don't know.. Can you light some sort of beacon for the others?" *** "Um.. I'm not sure. Theresa? She seems like she knows what she's doing a lot." *** "Yeah, that seems like a good idea," she said, shifting nervously. *** He blinked, following her. "Careful."
She frowned, taking out her wand. “I can try,” she said, pointing it up at the sky. Magic streamed from the wand and flew into the air. *** “Yeah, that sounds good.” He took a deep breath before calling out. “Theresa!” *** He took her hand and squeezed it. “Don’t panic.” *** “Never falter, my wily friend!”
He nodded, his brows furrowed. *** Theo looked up, her eyes wide. "Look! There's a light.." *** She looked up at him gratefully. "I'll try not to." *** He caught up to her. "Are you okay?"
The light traveled up and exploded, like a firework of gold. * * * "Who do you think that is?" he asked, heading towards it. "It didn't look like Theresa's magic." * * * He looked down at her, his eyes soft. "It'll be okay. We'll figure this out." * * * "I'm great," she said sincerely, wobbling as she walked. "We gotta follow the liiiighhhts..."
"Hopefully they'll be able to find us.." *** She followed him. "I don't know.. Fina, maybe? Lilith?" *** She held his gaze for a moment before looking up. "There's a light?" *** He offered his arm with a worried frown.
"Hopefully," she agreed, looking over at him. * * * "Maybe... Cassian's is blue, right?" * * * He squinted. "That must be Fina, if it's someone we know." * * * She leaned against him playfully. "You're so sweet..."
He was watching the light, his brows furrowed. *** "Yeah, his is blue. I think that's Fina." *** She nodded, holding onto his hand and starting towards it. "Let's find them." *** He frowned. "C'mon.. Let's go find the others."
She came over to him with a frown. "Are you okay?" * * * "Let's go to her, then." * * * He followed her, squeezing her hand reassuringly. * * * "Hm... goooob idea," she said. "That was one of the bibions." She frowned, squinting. "Vivions. Visions. We all meet up soon."
He looked down at her. "I'm worried." *** She nodded, keeping close to him as they walked. *** She went on, looking for Fina and Cassian until they broke through to the clearing. *** He squinted. "How long does this usually last?"
