She hesitated before taking his hand. "It'll be okay." Sylas squinted as they broke into the clearing and Fina looked over at them, dropping Cassian's hand and stepping back. * * * They approached the light, Monty's hand never leaving hers. * * * "Only a few minutes," she mumbled, turning to look back at him, her icy blue eyes cloudy. "You're pretty cute when you're concerned about me. People don't worry about me."
Cassian frowned at this, but didn't mention it. Lilith relaxed. "Okay, good. It was you two." *** She looked through the clearing, her brows furrowed. *** He squinted at her. "Stop that. I'm not cute."
Fina also relaxed, nodding. "Yeah. That must mean that the other four are around here too." Monty and Theo broke through the clearing, approaching the others. "We're here," Monty said, looking over his shoulder. * * * "No, but you are," she said primly. "And you're very sweet to me, even though you put that mean stuff in the newspaper. I forgive you for that."
Fina frowned, looking over her shoulder. "You think she would have responded first. She's not one to leave things alone like that." * * * She looked over at him, a small, sweet smile unlike anything he would have seen from her crossing her lips. Her eyes lifted and a small dimple in her cheek softened her stark face. "I forgave you a long time ago," she replied. "You shouldn't worry."
Theo moved closer to Monty. "Do you think we should he concerned?" *** He sighed, his expression softening. "C'mon. Let's get to the others."
"Well," Fina said uncertainly, looking around at the group. It was clear she was uncomfortable being in charge. "I guess we should... stay here? Because if they're coming to us, we've only given an indication that we're in this spot. Moving around would make it confusing. Maybe we should just start calling their names...?" * * * She leaned against him, nodding slightly. "Mmm."
Maverick looked around before pointing in a direction. "I think I saw a road while flying. Let's head that way."
Theresa patted his cheek affectionately before beginning to trot off obediently into the woods. Monty frowned. "Does she know where she's going?"
She had made headway ahead of them, getting lost in the gloom. By the time they had caught up, she was standing in a clearing, frowning. She looked over her shoulder and blinked in confusion. "Oh. There you are. What are we doing?"
She frowned, tilting her head back as she looked up at the sky. "That does sound like me... where are we going?"
