He gestured around them. “Everything and nothing.” *** She looked over at him. “I’m going to go look around.” *** He rubbed her back slowly, saying nothing at first. *** “Wow. With all the lies you tell, you’d think you’d run a tabloid or something. Oh, wait.”
She nodded slightly, looking around. "At least we have each other?" *** He pursed his lips before following. *** She looked up at him adoringly. "Thank you for helping me." *** He smiled slightly. "I would never stoop so low."
He didn’t look around at the others, instead focusing on her. “At least there’s that,” he acknowledged quietly. *** She looked over her shoulder in confusion. “Are you coming with?” *** He laughed slightly, rubbing her back slowly. “I didn’t really do anything.” *** She laughed, her sword arm relaxing. “Of course not.”
She gave him a small smile before looking back at the fire. *** His head tilted slightly. "Yes?" *** "You did more than you know." *** "I'm a respectable person."
He laid back, looking up at the ceiling thoughtfully. *** She seemed surprised by this but nodded. “Okay.” *** “I hugged you. That’s about it.” *** “Hardly.”
She pulled his coat tighter around herself, taking his hand. *** He looked a little confused at her surprise. "What?" *** "And you talked to me. You calmed me down." *** "Oh, shush."
He looked up at her. "You okay?" * * * "I just thought you'd want to stay by the fire," she said with a small shrug. * * * "Believe it or not, Sparky, but I like talking to you." * ** She rolled her eyes as they walked into the darkness.
She looked down at him, her expression warm and gentle. "I'm okay. I'm just glad that you're here," she said, her voice low. *** He shook his head stubbornly, keeping up with her pace. "I'd rather explore with you." *** She offered him a small grin, resting her head on his shoulder. "How convenient. I like talking to you, too." *** He followed her easily, looking around the mansion. It was dilapidated, but easy to recognize as quite nice, especially in its day. Upon exploration, there would be a few bedrooms with available beds, tearooms, a large dining hall with a long table. It was adorned with paintings and carved statues, but they were faded with age and covered in cobwebs. There didn't appear to be any food.
He considered her, his dark hair falling over his eyes as he sat upon his elbows to get a better look at her. With a gentle hand, he brushed the wisps out of her face, watching her with those golden eyes. "I'm glad you're here too," he said, his voice like silk. * * * She raised an eyebrow before reaching out, offering her hand to him curiously. "You don't have to take it if you don't want to," she told him quietly. "I know that kind of stuff makes you uncomfortable." * * * He laughed, planting a kiss on her head before looking around the room, his brow furrowed. "Should we try and find some food? Are you hungry?" * * * Theresa sheathed her sword, the metal sliding in with a satisfying click. She turned to Maverick, her hands resting on her hips. "We should probably try to find food."
She observed him with wide eyes. She leaned into his touch slightly before reaching her hand out and brushing his cheek gently, before leaning forward and kissing his opposite cheek. *** He took it easily, his grip firm. "I do like it," he said. "I'm just not very good at showing it." *** She looked around with a slight frown. "I'm not very hungry, but we can look." *** He observed her thoughtfully before turning back to the house. "Yeah. I'm not sure where we would find it, though."
Sylas blinked in surprise, a flush coming up to his cheeks as he watched her. "What was that for?" he asked, tilting his head. * * * She looked over at him thoughtfully, her eyebrow raised. "Why?" she asked, her fingers slipping in between his. "Why is it hard for you?" * * * "We don't need to," he amended. "We could also try and find some blankets or something if you're tired." * * * "I don't even know if we need food," she said with a small shrug. "Who knows where we were sent? I don't even think we're on the same planet anymore."
Her face was still close to his, eyes wide and observant. She had a faint blush on her face. "I like you." *** He shrugged slightly, looking mildly uncomfortable at the question. "I'm just not good at it, is all." *** She nodded, standing up and offering her hand. "Let's look around." *** He frowned slightly, looking around. "I think we'll need to eat eventually.."
He considered her, a frown crossing his lips as he watched her thoughtfully. "You like me," he said slowly, his eyes narrowing in confusion. * * * Fina frowned, tipping her head to the side before she leaned forward and gave him a small, soft kiss on his cheek. "That's okay," she said primly, pulling away. "Don't worry." * * * He looked up at her before using her hand to pull himself up. "Explorin' time." * * * Theresa sighed, brushing her curly hair out of her face. "Fine. Hunting, maybe?"
She saw his confusion. She shook her head slightly before resting her hands on his neck and leaning forward, kissing him gently. *** He flushed, looking embarrassed. "Ah.. I like you quite a bit." *** She smiled at him. "Explorin' time." *** He nodded, looking thoughtful. "Yeah, we could do that."
He flushed, his hand coming up to cup her jaw gently as he kissed her back immediately. * * * She looked over at him, raising one eyebrow. "Is that so?" * * * "What should we look for first?" * * * "Do you know how to hunt?"
She pulled away after a moment, her eyes fluttering open. She didn't say anything, evidently a bit nervous. *** He tilted his head at her, looking confused. "Isn't it obvious?" *** "I'm not sure," she said. "Bedrooms? Blankets? Pillow?" *** "I know how to hunt," he confirmed. "As an animal."
He watched her, his eyes wide as he pulled away slightly. "Lilith... your friendship means the world to me, but..." * * * She shrugged uncertainly, looking over at him. "You're very cool." * * * "You're a beautiful genius," he agreed, squeezing her hand. * * * "Okay. Well... we should try and figure out where we are first. What we're doing."
She looked a little panicked. "But..?" *** He squinted. "What do you mean?" *** She kissed his cheek, starting up the stairs curiously. *** "Maybe we should do that in the mornings and focus on food first."
He backed away from her, looking down at the ground and being silent for a moment. "I'm a demon," he said quietly. "Remember?" * * * "Just... you know. You don't always show your emotions all the time." * * * He followed, one hand on the railing. * * * "Okay. Let's go hunting, then."
She relaxed slightly, scooting forward and taking his hands. "I don't care what you are or what I am.. I like you for you, Sylas." *** He frowned slightly, his expression maybe a little guilty. "I'm sorry. I'll try to work on that." *** They made it upstairs and she looked around curiously, exploring the rooms. *** He nodded, starting for the door.
