He glared at Cassian's back before trying to break down the door. * * * He squeezed her hand before tugging her to the door. "Let's go wake them up."
She nodded, getting up and going to Fina and Cassian's room, trying to wake them up with a worried expression.
Fina's eyes flew open and she froze, her eyes staring into nothingness before the sobs took over. She curled up into a fetal position and started crying, her tears plaintive and despairing. Monty hit the door once more, falling back to the ground. He gritted his teeth before stopping, tilting his head slowly. There was no pain from hitting the door, no dull ache that he would have expected. "This isn't real," he said, standing up slowly.
Cassian sat up quickly, his eyes wide. "Are you guys okay?" Lilith asked in a panic. "They were dreams." Cassian looked down at Fina. "Fina? Fina, are you okay?" *** The world would fade as Monty began to wake up, Theo beside him.
She flinched at his voice, pulling away from him, her whole body shaking. He woke hastily, sitting up and looking down at Theo before wrapping his arms around her waist and hugging her.
Lilith looked hesitant to leave them, but did so to wake Maverick and Theresa. Cassian frowned, pulling close. "Fina," he soothed, looking worried. "Talk to me. It's okay." She shifted, her brows furrowing before she woke. "M-Monty?"
Theresa was curled up in front of the remains of the fire, twitching nervously. * * * She put her hand on his chest, trying to keep her distance. "N-no, don't," she whimpered, struggling to get away from him. "You're not going to do it again..." * * * "I'm sorry to wake you," he said quietly, burying his face in her shoulder. "Bad dream."
Lilith came down to her, touching her shoulder. "Theresa, wake up.." *** He took her hand gently. "It was a dream, Fina. It was just a dream. What happened?" *** She relaxed slightly. "You're.. You're not mad at me..?"
She flew awake, her eyes widening as she sat up immediately. "What...?!" * * * She looked up at him, tears in her golden eyes as she realized that he was speaking the truth. She whimpered before resting her head on his chest, hugging him. "You... you ripped apart my field guide and told me that it wasn't good enough and that I wasn't good enough and that I was a disappointment and that you wouldn't give it back to me even though I begged you to." * * * He pulled back slightly, frowning. "Why would I be?"
Lilith pulled away. "You're just dreaming.. It was a bad dream." *** He blinked before holding her close. "Oh, Fina.. It's okay. I would never do that to you. I'm sorry." *** She sat up, shaking her head slightly. "I.. I think I had a bad dream, too."
Her shoulders slumped as she looked around before she sat down heavily, a low shudder sweeping through her chest as she buried her face in her hands. Sylas shook Maverick's shoulder. "Hey! Wake up!" * * * "All that work," she muttered, shaking her head. "Lost." She looked up with him, her face having lost something she had before. "Are you okay?" * * * He sat up too, frowning. "What happened?"
He sat up quickly, looking around in a panic. "What?" *** He hesitated to reply. "It's alright. Your field guide is okay. It's not ripped." *** She shook her head slightly. "You didn't like me anymore. You said I was disgusting. It's.. It's fine."
"Bad dream," Sylas explained flatly. "Everyone had one." He gestured with his head to Theresa, still sitting motionless with her head in her hands. * * * She sniffled before wrapping her arms around his neck, burying her face in his shoulder. "I'm so glad I wasn't wrong about you." * * * His eyes widened and he looked at her for a moment. "How could I possibly think someone like you is disgusting? Have you looked at yourself lately, Sparky?"
He frowned, getting up and going to Theresa. "Are you okay?" *** Lilith returned to Sylas, taking his hand with a frown. "Are you okay?" *** He hugged her, bringing her close. "It's okay.." *** She flushed slightly, hugging him. "I.. I'm so glad you're here with me."
There was a silence before she spoke, sounding as if she had been trying to keep herself calm. “Yeah. I’m okay. Are you okay?” *** He looked down at her, kissing her lightly. “I’m so glad you’re okay.” *** Fina took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. “What happened in yours?” *** He kissed the top of her head. “I’m glad you’re here too... we should go check on the others.”
He frowned slightly. "I'm fine." *** She looked up at him adoringly, wrapping her arms around his waist. *** He shook his head slightly. "It was nothing." *** She nodded, standing up a little shakily before offering her hand.
She looked up at him slowly, her eyes rimmed red. "What happened in yours?" * * * He kissed her forehead, looking down at her. "How are you feeling?" * * * She frowned, resting her head in the curve of his neck. "Talk to me about it." * * * He took it, draping his arm over her shoulder and kissing the top of her head.
He shook his head slightly. "I was alone. Nobody remembered me." *** She relaxed. "I'm okay. What happened in your dream?" *** "I just.. never amounted to anything. I died alone." *** She left the room, going to find the others.
She looked up at him, her mouth tight as she considered him. "Well... I remember you." * * * He shook his head slowly. "I don't want to talk about it." * * * She watched him before taking his face in her hands and kissing him deeply. * * * He followed her, rubbing her back reassuringly.
He tilted his head. "We're awake now." *** She nodded slightly, squeezing his hand. "Okay." *** He flushed, kissing her back gently. *** She joined the rest of them in the livingroom.
