I know your probabaly working on your o wn stuff, but is there a chance you could make a arule 63 of the oc you made of me the other week?
Please don't talk about porn in this thread...I'm never going to post NSFW or do requests properly unless I say I'm taking them... Spoiler: First Date
I think you may need to relook about anatomy. right now i think your characters have back issues, and look....unnatural.
It's a cartoon, moreover a joke. I could post other stuff from art projects in the past which are designed to be realistic, and have proper anatomy. This is just having fun with characters in an animated sense. So while I appreciate the criticism, there is a reason as to why I've done things the way I have. e.g. Classical example, Jessica Rabbit. She's designed how she is to send a certain message and portrayal of her character, even though she isn't physically possible and is a cartoon.
A friend asked me to draw Celestia dressed as Chell, so I took it a little step further and just tried drawing a human Celestia instead of an anthro one. I think it turned out pretty ok all in all considering. And yes they asked for the proportions to be like this. Spoiler: Princess Chellestia
The head is a wee bit small for that body, and the hips are uneven. Also, I am sorry to say this, but the long, unbroken line under her breasts is very strange-looking. It's like the shirt hugs her body in a weird way. Did you recolour an RD vector for the head and wings? There are small pixels in odd colours at the edge of the lines. Apart from that, it looks fine. Poetiiiiiiiic, did your friend want this for the pun alone? Not going to comment on the proportions, because oh my goodness XD Her jawline is a tad wonky. Her chin shouldn't line up with her neck from that angle. I'm not sure how to explain it, but do you know what I mean? This one looks better than your anthros, though. The head looks to be drawn in the same style as the body, and the size matches. It's also nice to see something in your own style. Keep it up!
Honestly I've only really sort of got back into drawing human bodies and stuff, I used to draw cartoon caricatures all the time but I've gotten quite considerably rusty. The heads of the ponies I try and vector myself, but the way I do it leaves a few little lines here and there. Need to find a better way of doing it. It's weird though 'cause I was sharing concepts with a friend and they'd said what I was doing with the shirts was wrong, so I changed it, they said it was ok, but anything I try always upsets at least one person x3 Proportions wise I draw the characters very cartoony/over the top most of the time, I'm not going for realism in that regard. As long as the basic anatomy's correct. The male stuff I do is the same, I struggle a little to make defining features in what is supposed to be a wacky, cartoony design you know? Like I say, still getting used to getting back into drawing humans, hopefully with practise I'll improve. Your words are...harsh, but fair, thanks for the feedback. *EDIT* Deleted the one before the last one, looking back on it, it was super crap.
I wasn't trying to be harsh, and I'm sorry if it came across as such. I try to help wherever I can, and if what you did was completely hopeless, I wouldn't have pointed out details such as the jaw. I think you're doing quite well anatomy wise for the ladies, and I am definitely not condemning curvy. Curvy is all gurd in my books. Just keep in mind that exaggerated boobs is potentially distracting. - - Auto Merge - - Can you tell me what their problem was? I am geniuinely curious about this.
Well I tried drawing it with two chunks missing, leaving only one line in the middle if you know what I mean? Not completely joined, but segmented. Then I tried getting rid of the line in the middle and it looked too...2-D I guess? It looked a bit odd. Then the worst one I just drew it so it completely hugged the body, like a skinsuit, which I really really didn't like, so I canned that. Eventually I just went back to what I'm on now. I might go back to the segmented design, thinking about it, that one worked the best.
A lot of people just go for the skinsuit, which is probably the worst thing to do. Yeah, the boobs aren't completely outlines in most shirts, especially not ones that are as perky as the ones you drew. They would be closer to what you see in this guide. If you want to cartoon it up a notch, perhaps you can draw inspiration from Kim Possible. That cartoon had a female cast with diverse-ish body types. ALthough that art style is very 2D-looking, so if that's not what you're going for, ehhhh... Practise makes perfect.
Hmm...you make a good point, I might have to start looking back at that show. I wouldn't have to copy the 2-D style completely, maybe just take notes on the details. I can draw bodies proportionately like the breasts, I know how to draw them so that they're not as perky, but atm it's trying to apply a cartoony style at the same time. If I drew things like I would a real person, it would get rid of a lot of the character and cartoon style you know? But yeah practise makes perfect, I'll try something now that'll be a bit more proportionate and see if it works.
