A simple statement with no explanation to back it up. You just say and treat it as automatically true.
Is that a little bit of a coincidence there? 2,000 years ago I could have said that there were magical fairies in the raindrops and it would have made sense. Nothing significant has happened since the time when people took just about everything said as fact.
Oh, I can. That's what I believe. It's the others that say he does it for a reason. I want them to answer, so if you're not gonna say why he does everything for a reason please stop telling me it's wrong. I'm just curious is all.
If you have the Burden of Proof, you really can't prove it doesn't exist. You can't prove it DOES exist, either. If this delves into an argument, I -will- lock this. So watch your tones.
This is like trying to explain quantum physics to a dead cat....just lock it. There are 3 types of events in this thing. 1:God made.(Usually the scenarios depicted in the bible) 2:Man made.(War.Massacres.Bombings etc.) 3:Random.(Storms.Car accidents.Animal attacks.black holes)
The question isn't even aimed at sparky. There are people hear that believe it. I'm just asking why they do.
It had potential alright... except people let a good debate turn into personal beliefs and let that cloud their judgement... again. inb4 politics discussion...
This site will never have deep discussions. Every thread that could have a discussion just turns to madness.
Pretty much everyone here did that. How did we get from symbolism to arguing over religion? He is,Hes saying both sides got outta control.
I am Christian, but I don't let my beliefs get in the way of what others think. I don't care if you think Satan is God, it's your decision. I know a few Satanists, and they are some of the nicest people I've ever met. The fact that we stereotype Satanism as an evil religion (Well it sorta is) where people murder each other because Satan tells them to is just plain wrong. And I'm a CHRISTIAN who is saying this.
I think I can explain why I believe it, but first could you please formulate the question again because I'm not entirely sure what you meant.
When people say god does everything for a reason, why do they think he does everything? Why is everything planned to occur in a certain order or way. Why do children not have homes, why are people killed in the dumbest ways. Why would god do this if he can control everything? If it's a test on the other people they know, it's a pretty crap test. Would he not want his creations to be happy and live full lives.
Well honestly, I don't know what's the reason of all the bad things going on in the world. Maybe the universe is somehow designed to have everything happen for a reason, but I don't think 'God' has direct controll over everything that happens in our world. But then again, I don't see God as an individual being but rather as an allcompassing lifeforce. I guess all the bad things we cause in the world are simply our own folt. Animals are content with their simple lives, but humans somehow always want more and better stuff and that's how things get out of balance, wars start etc. Maybe we're just freaks of nature. Or maybe we, as an intelectually higher species, first need to go through some self-caused sh*t times before we finally realize we're only destroying ourselves and our planet by living this way. Maybe that's the purpose of it all... I can only contemplate. I've got no direct answer as to why or to what degree I believe things happen for a reason, sorry.
I don't think things happen for any reason, they just happen. I only brought up the god controls things because I was curious. Crap just happens.
