FlutterDash is my number one, though I wouldn't say no to PinkieDash either. CheeriMac is I think pretty cute, but I also find Big Mac/Twilight to be kind of interesting. My favorite Mac pairing though is probably be CaraMac. I'm not sure how Soarin'/Braeburn got started, but it sounds pretty cool, even though I'm more of a Soarin'/Spitfire kind of guy. I respect Spike/Rarity and its fans, but I prefer Rarity/Fancy pants and Spike/Sweetie Belle. Does anybody remember Rumble, Thunderlane's brother from "Hurricane Fluttershy"? I think he'd go good with Scootaloo.
Statistically yes, I mean their society has a much larger number of females then it does males. Although as far as show cannon is concerned, the ponies are all a-sexual or straight. Although... Lyra & Bon-Bon do hang out together a lot in the background....so maybe, just maybe we could call them a cannon MareXMare couple and not just a fannon one. Also, have some pictures
On the subject of shipping, this series, I probably gave the most thought to of any fantasy series, excluding Pokemon. Out of the Mane 6, to make 3 compatible couples: PinkieDash, Flutterity, and TwiJack. For some reason, I can really see Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie making it work out, but that's probably just me cause they are my two favorites and seems the best scenes are when they two are involved. Fluttershy & Rarity could work in my book cause of how they seem to be opposites. Rarity is more of a fashion pony and Fluttershy tried fashion and is the quiet one. Seems that Rarity would be able to fill in the voids in Shy's life. To me, Apple Jack's and Twilight's relationship is one that has a friendship background. In the episode when Applejack over-worked herself, how Twilight would try to give advice seem that they can really pull each other out of messes. One is tough and hard working, the other uses magic and is very smart. Nopony could stop a duo like that. Lyra X Bon Bon's I feel is needed (if they are by chance lesbians). I know MLP is a kids show and I can see some people (conservatives, Christians, concern parents, Westboro, etc.) being upset with a homosexual relationship on a kid's show. But since the LGBT movement is growing and is starting to remove all those stigmas and homophobic beliefs. I think it is time for ANY show, to start using a same-sex couple. At least 10 states, one of which I plan to move to, recognizes same-sex marriage. Even if MLP (or any other ''kid's show'') has a male homosexual couple, I would be equally supportive. Non-6 characters that I feel will make a good shipping are Derpy X Dr. Whooves, Zecora X Discord (I don't know why, I just feel that might work), Twixie X Snails or Trixie X Snips, Spike X Trixie (for Spike to turn to Twilight's rival), Celestia X Discord (a divorce-based relationship), or Vinyl X Tavie. I can see a good one between Dash and Derpy for some reason and Dash X Gilda. As far as sexual orientation of the ponies. I believe BB and Lyra are lesbians, and maybe a few side ponies are LGBT, as far as the Mane 6, I perceive them as straight (even Dashie), but I can except basically any fan-made relationship as a head-canon. Only ones that I wouldn't so much are any adult character with the younger ones (ie the CMC) or an incest one, but that's just me.
Considering that it's a kid's show, I always thought of them as all being Morman Ponies. (Except Morman's haven't believed in having multiple wives since the 1600's... ;3 I always though of Lyra and Bon-Bon as best friends rather than a couple. Maybe it's just me. As for my favorite ship, I read a fanfic a while back that shipped Celestia and Shining Armor. Cadence died early on in the story and it just sort of... Worked.
