Ok, I am officially bored, so I decided to write a quick poem about a pony(or two) very dear to me. A warm welcome As I settled in Ponyville, a voice from nowhere gave me a chill. When I started to turn around, I saw a pink pony was abound. She greeted me with a smile, and threw a party so divine. Out in the fields so green, it almost seemed to me she could see through a screen. I learned Pinkie Pie was her name, so fitting for her curly mane. Suddenly she began to shake, earflop kneetwitch and eyeflutter, I was afraid she was gonna break. Then she said so sly, that a beautiful rainbow would grace the sky. Soon I heard a mighty roar, winds like generated from the wings of war. A cyan beauty arrived at the scene, she seemed to me like a dream. With a multicoloured mane, she approach me and Pinkie with a flame. I have never seen you so alive, Pinkie said with a smile, I predicted you would arrive. I flew for many mile, the rainbow said returning the smile, so that I may come to your party tonight. But who is this colt? She asked her friend, I like his style to no end. She turned to me with eyes of fire, introducing herself as Rainbow Dash, who I now seemed to admire. We went flying in the clouds, high above the party crowds. We raced and she won all the time, not that I seemed to mind, for to everything but her I was now blind. I was invited to her home, to spend some time together alone. We fell asleep as one, me smelling her mane and she smelled mine, this night was rather fun. The first thing I saw then I woke up was those purple eyes, beautiful like the skies, it was then I did find, the warmest welcome of mine. If anyone else wants to write something quick about a pony (or more) they care about, you are free to do so, I am curious to see what you all can come up with on a short notice.
While I feel that this should be moved to the Literature section, I will certainly contribute. I may re-post what I write to my own poetry thread, if I think it's long enough or good enough. I decided to write one from the point of view of Twilight Sparkle (which I've done once before). It's a parody of an older song (The Night Chicago Died), so it's just for fun. I don't know if parodies count, so I might just come back and write something original some other time, but I felt like making this. Thanks for inspiring me to write this, Prince Darkmoon. Title: The Day Canterlot Died Lyrics: Mommy was a mare On the west side of Canterlot Back in Equestria Back when I was young On my brother's wedding day In the land of the two-bit coin When Canterlot city died And the tale keeps going on When a mare named Chrysalis Made arrangements go amiss Had her changelings in the town When the walls were breaking down I heard my brother cry The princess fell the day Canterlot died Pinkie, what a night it really was Dashie, what a fight it really was No Harmony I heard my brother cry The princess fell the day Canterlot died Pinkie, what a night the ponies saw Dashie, what a fight the ponies saw Without Harmony All my friends got up and ran For out last hope, it seemed But we ran into a band Of the changelings of the queen We were fighting our mirrored selves For the Elements on the shelves But there were too many to beat And they brought on our defeat I heard my brother cry The princess fell the day Canterlot died Pinkie, what a night it really was Dashie, what a fight it really was No Harmony I heard my brother cry The princess fell the day Canterlot died Pinkie, what a night the ponies saw Dashie, what a fight the ponies saw Without Harmony And we thought that all was lost So we wondered at the cost The the magic swept us all And we saw them standing tall My brother and his bride The queen swept away by the tide The day Canterlot died The day Canterlot died Pinkie, what a night the ponies saw Dashie, what a fight the ponies saw True Harmony The day Canterlot died The day Canterlot died Pinkie, what a night it really was Dashie, what a fight it really was Love Harmony
