Danism IS a religion. Based around another Dan, but still. We almost had enough members to legally found it in America.
Fine In short not negative mean way. Having a religion is dumb. 1) The media will call it a cult. 2) Having a tv show tell me how to live is just silly. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
Then wait till I get the punch. It's the same recipe as pinkie's spring has sprung party punch. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
So there's this guy who likes punch. Punch everyday, everywhere. So much punch. One day, he's invited to a party. He asks "Will there be punch?" The answer was yes, of course. No one invites this guy without punch. So, he comes to the party, and the first thing he says is: "Where's the punchline?"
Did he ever get the punch?Maybe there wasn't a line because it wasn't any good. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
To me, religion encompasses a system of beliefs, but at a high level of believers and acceptance. The fandom hardly classifies as a religion, but you can't deny that the show offers good morals to live by. However, it's not the only show to offer such morals--it's just the only one that has united a visible and open many to consciously aim to follow them. Religion or not, it's a positive thing. I don't blame fans for denying the label, though. I would.
To clarify, I do not claim the fandom is a religion. What I am suggesting is the possibillity that I may adopt ponies as my religion or as an ideology. The religions that does already exist have been disapointing so far, none being as pure as they claim to be, all having horrible evils disguised as purity. I have been close to adopting christianity, lately, but the use of fearmongering and "one true path" doctrines made me change my mind. I am sorry but the God of the bible does not strike me as the perfectly good being he claims to be. Among all the things of the earth, only ponies strike me as truly divinely inspired. To me, Equestria is the kingdom of a truly good God and the ideals of the bronies are what believers of the ultimate good being should be. To me, the bronies are closer to the true message of Jesus Christ than the church ever was. Forgive me if I offend anypony, it was not my intent.
My religion is **** happens. Because it's the only truth. Nuff said. Also there is no sarcasm in the above lines or in this one. This is serious.
Didn't think of that, you are right. I am going to study theology this fall, I have always been a spiritual person, but I do not really believe in a specific faith. The only consistant with me is that I am a pantheist. I also believe in justice, liberty, enlightenment, love and tolerance. All religions and ideologies on this earth have elements I like and some I hate, maybe its a good idea to combine the good aspects of all. That being said, I do have reverence for these ponies, which is more than I can say about any god. Sometimes I wonder if they are a force of cosmic good after all.
I am actually going to agree with Prince Darkmoon. I would hop into a religion based from ponies because it is a pure and untainted world to which life is precious. I myself am a spiritualist, but not a part of any "real" religion. I have always thought of adopting them as a religion for the teachings that they provide. I would, of course, refrain from different aspects of which people would apply through, but I would most certainly consider letting Celestia and Luna be the ponies to whom could forgive me for something I have done instead of a long dead magician that liked to get drunk. Or even a four-armed Papa Smurf. Just sayin' that I would adopt the ideaology of ponies as a believeable theory for people without hope. The show and fandom has helped so many others, so why not ease the thoughts of those who cannot figure their lives out?
I'm assuming they mean an all white horse, as it's more regal. Personally, I'm not a fan of Celestia so if God came on Celestia I'd be like "Dude really? When you had Luna?" but that's my bias; but I also am not going to cross over my ponies with my religion. Because 1. a pony isn't a horse and 2. if a horse is dubbed a "horse" that horse cannot be a pony and 3. I think Jesus would be too big for a pony. Just my speculation as a horsewoman. XD
it's also a fictional tv show with no refrences made to their size they could be 30 hands' tall for all we know. also who knows jesus could of been a tiny guy
I'm pretty similair. I like to take out the 'good parts' of different spiritual views, but I have no interest in actively joining any religion. I'm all for the idea that it doesn't matter what you pray too, as long as it feels right to you. But I don't really see the point in founding a pony religion. Heck, I talk to Princess Celestia in my mind sometimes. But I have no interest in doing so collectively, wearing brony shirts and chanting songs from the show. :derpe: I understand if you want to share your spiritual feelings with others. I know that feel. But I think that's a matter of finding the right people rather than finding (or founding) the right religion.
