Oh yeah, the lavender town tone story was a fake. Although it's very creepy, kids can't kill themselves over a noise.
Hmmm... I never heard about the Lavender Town story, but I just now listened to it. I can see, or rather hear, how it can sound creepy. It gave me the creeps when I played it at night. I think I even had a nightmare about it. Today, I look back on it and laugh, and laugh, and laugh. Oh boy.
