P Whoops! Idiot move on my part.) "Oh." she said, shaking her head slightly. "Sorry." She plugged it in, and looked at the computer expectantly.
The computer beeped once, and another window appeared. 'First time plugging in, please scan system' It reads, highlighting the option on the selection screen.
Daniel immediately goes stiff, as the computer starts going through checks, with things named "Voicebox" and "Personality.drive()" appearing on the screen. It looked like it would take a few minutes.
With a look of growing concern, Ana looked into Daniel's eyes. She waved a hand in front of his face. When it warranted no response, she hesitantly shook him by the arm.
Ana looked at the desktop, and looked back at Daniel. She put her hands on her hips. "Alright. Very funny." she said, sighing.
Daniel was still unresponsive. He hadn't moved an inch, blinked, or even twitched since the scan started. (Remember that the cable came from his pocket.... And one end is plugged into the box... What's the other end plugged into?)
(No, I know what's going on. However, Ana's mind is more reasonable than mine. She'd think logically, rather than imaginatively. She would imagine that it was a joke being played on her, rather than the person actually being some sort of automaton. But, for the sake of the RP, I'll make her less close minded. ) Ana's eyes followed the wire. She reached out a hand and looked into the pocket to see what the cord was connected to.
(Ah, okay... Sorry bout that) The wire went through a hole in his pocket, but something looked odd, with what was visible, there was a hole in Daniel's leg, with a few dim lights blinking on and off.
(No! It's not your fault at all. Don't worry about it. ) Ana took a step back with a sharp intake of breath. In her mind, she remembered hearing her mother talking, one of the few time's Ana could get her to speak about her father. "He was a marvelous inventor." her mother said sadly. "Simply wonderful." Now, while Ana was staring at both Daniel and the computer monitor, the pieces began to float together. "No." she whispered. "Not possible."
The computer beeped. The scan was finished. Daniel blinks a few times, looking at her. "What's not possible?" He asks, scanning her facial expression. Probably shocked, or amazed... But at what? He turns around, trying to locate the source of her astonishment.
"Don't take offense to this, but..." Ana started, wondering how to continue. "Were you... created by my father?"
Ana's froze in shock. She turned and sat down, and put her hand to her face. "Yeah. That kind of is a surprise. Seeing as I've been told since I was born that my father was dead, this comes as a surprise.."
"Why... Would you be told that? " Daniel wonders out loud. He thinks, tapping his foot. He looked down, hearing a cracking sound. "Oh... Wooden floors are not as strong as concrete..." He mutters, stepping off of a new crack in the floor.
