We're not jelly. It's just that we think that they shouldn't get paid so much, considering there are some manual workers who do much more work than them for minimum wages.
I think that, sports would be good, if there was a LOT less commercialism. For example, football players get paid an avg of what? 1 mil every game. What do they do? Kick a ball around. Then, you have people wondereing why they are having to make cuts for the military! Well done Prime Minister... Well done! [/sarcasm]
I wonder professioal athletes wonder how silly contract disputes sound to normal people. I can just imagine what a conversation would be like: "NO! I want 3.5 million dollars, not 2 million dollars" This is one of the reasons why I love skateboarding, most of the pros out there (there are exceptions of course, such as Tony Hawk and Rob Dyrdek) don't get paid that much. They get paid average, if that. Given that they are doing better because skateboarding is more popular, but they still don't make a lot. Just recently, a very famous skater, Andrew Reynolds, who is a multi millionaire, decided to move out of his mansion (with a skatepark, mind you) into a small apartment just enough for him and his daughter. Not because he had to, he's filthy rich (lol Filthy Rich), but he chose to anyway. That deserves some respect.
