I plan to write something erotic some day (obviously not on EP) and I'm sure I'll get hate for that, but you really can't care. It'll only limit your creative outlets if you're afraid of what other people think Pretty much me when it's going to happen.
DRD I was talking about the hate on him. You know he gets more hate then smittyG. Even though they both draw similar ponies.
Of course, being my first post since a huge hiatus from the forums, I admit that this comes out a little pointed but allow me to drop down on this subject: Everypony.com has now adopted a No-Clop policy. Great for us! The reason this thread is here, the main reason, is that there are some here who are shocked to see someone -anyone- taking a stance on this subject. It's generally accepted that on sites not dedicated to the subject of lewd/lascivious material you are not allowed to post it. Most of us got this in the gist but because of recent events on this site, and without, we had to lay down the law officially. Bringing us to our current moment. The reaction regarding this subject has ranged from formal to sour throughout your replies so I am actually going to offer you another opportunity to defend this aberrant behavior: What does CLOP material actually contribute to Bronydom?
Clop art is a way of the artist expressing themselves and because that's what they enjoy to draw. They have fans that like it, It's a win for them both. I'm sure if I wanted to I good start with clop art. I won't because I wouldn't enjoy drawing it.
Very well. There's nothing against drawing or collecting the material. Many of us are ready to admit to it, but it's as groundbreaking as admitting to drinking water. Since there's nothing stopping a sufficiently motivated person from creating these images, why post it? Everyone with proper skill in drawing has illustrated their own pornography. And if Pablo Picasso can do it, so can any of the rest of us. Thing is, Picasso's X-Rated content was discovered after his death and supplied to us posthumously. Mostly because such material is damaging to the credibility of the artist. I must now ask, what motivates people to post this material when any other self respecting artist has business sense enough to keep it to themselves?
I know slugbox posts it because it pays the bills. I don't see how it damages the artist. I give a artist more respect for drawong and posting what they want. Example: crooked trees or whatever name he goes by, I love his art no matter what it is. He gets so much hate he has to keep changing names. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
This is troubling. Specifically because it implies I concern myself with the likes/dislikes fetishes/et al of anyone I randomly encounter on the Internet. To put it into perspective: had you and I known each other for several years and shared or stumbled upon these strange fixtures, it would be an entirely different conversation. Considering what I know about Slugbox, how have you enhanced my appraisal of your character by informing me, the rest of us and any other random person what your major kick is? Good art, bad art; it's still smut. What compels you to inform me about your taste in x-rated material, and for that matter, what of the rest of us? How have you provided the community with any substantial boon by telling us what blows your hair back and insist we join you in it?
Have you provided us with any boon by asking this question? r34 and this thread both have a valid reason for existance, however often I say it does not. Facepalm-worthy lulz.
I guess. I dunno, I'd still feel the same about as I do now I'm a little confused here. Enhanced My character? Are you claiming I'm of bad character because I like a artist. Informing you of my major kick? Are you assuming I like these artist because they make clop art? I like these artist for their style. Slugbox has one of the coolest styles I've ever seen. Does it matter if it's smut, no one is forcing you to look at it (inb4 showing up on google)(turn on safe filter) I didn't inform anyone that I liked clop. When did I ever say I like clop. I never told you to join me. I never claimed to hate it or enjoy it. I'm only talking about the hate towards the artist. Since I started drawing mysticplha was a big influence on my art, when I found slugbox I hated him at first. Slowly I started look through his gallery. I love his style of drawing, I don't care for the content. He can draw what he wants. I'm a saying go to his DA, no I don't think I am. -- Sent from my Palm Pre using Forums
Oh DanSze, what would I do without my daily regiment of Snark? Never has anyone ever said so little while talking so much...
Ultimately Pixel, you have to admit that Slugbox engages in a variety of art that is Not-Safe-Anywhere. We're not talking about an actual artist; we're talking about a pornographer that -you- like. As far as liking the style, I guess you're not old enough to remember the old addage, "No! I read it for the articles!" So, rather than laugh at this assertion, I offer you the chance to qualify it: What components of his style do you feel are the best executed?
