I find the whole show rather... stupid actually.

I quote:
"Tell your mother to get out of Taco Bell and stop having children from a visible minority father!"
Followed by, seconds later:
"I'm not racist! Stop slandering me!"

I think that's 'nuff said.

Is there even a reason for him to act this way. I mean at first I thought it was because he was from Texas, but some members here are from Texas. So I got nothing there. Why does he have so much hate?

That is all I really want to know. What made him so hateful towards the world?

I want to know how someone could be so blind to the most open and obvious hypocrisy of their own creation. It's like he's straight out of an anime or manga just how oblivious he is to what he's saying. It's entertaining and pathetic at the same time.

True, but even how hateful he is I kinda feel sorry for the guy. At the same time he makes it difficult for people to like him.

The question of "why is he so mad?" is going to plague me until I learn the answer.

If he'd just embrace the bronies, or shoo them off without insane reactions, they wouldn't bother him so much. Honestly, his convoluted views and opinions are so narrow minded, it's no wonder he cannot accept anything else.

The truly awe-striking thing here is how much he actually knows about the fandom, from memes to inside jokes. Anyone else notice that? He seems to have an above average familiarity with it all.

If you were trolled with these for about a few months non stop, you would have learned all the inside jokes by now. All of them.

ALL
OF
THEM.

But If he didn't hate so much, they would leave him alone.

He has no reason to attack an entire fandom, based on the crap he comes up with in his head.

When I don't like something, there are 2 things I do to do to deal with it.

1) Change whatever I don't like, or if that isn't possible or right,

2) Ignore it.

In this case, I don't like ghost for being a racist, homophobic, sexist hate monger. Can I change Ghost to be a more caring, tolerant person? Hell no. That's not going to happen. So what I do, is ignore him. If he wants to rant into a microphone about whow much he hates bronies while trying to force his political views of capitalism on other people, I don't have to listen to it. Besides, I'm not exaggerating when I say at least 95% of his viewers are brony trolls, so it's not as if I should be concerned about people taking in what he's talking about.

However, I have listened to a few clips of Ghost, and even tuned in to episode 150 last night. I'll admit, I do find some of the trolling funny. Not his reaction, but what the viewers actually say. Some of it is genuinely funny. Besides, it's not is af any of it said is offensive, nobody really insults him, they just bombard him with inside pony jokes. However, they do it knowing he will get worked up, and I'm not sure I agree with that. Listening to him last night, I actually felt pretty bad for him. He was genuinely stressing out, and as a human, I can't help but sympathise with that, no matter how extreme his views. However, I do have to consider that he continues to broadcast knowing full well that this will happen.

All in all, I don't like what Ghost does, but I'm not going to deliberately stress him out just because he's a douche.

Although, if it weren't for Ghost trolling, we'd never have this brilliant song.

taking anything he says personally or seriously is folly - everything he says is quick-witted improv acting for the sake of entertainment and traffic. thats it. assuming that ghost is full of hatred or is a racist or hates bronies is attributing his character with much more depth than it actually has. he is an incredibly shallow person; a characteristic which helps his success b/c a guy like that needs and has only one goal and that is, entertainment for the sake of traffic. period.
i guarantee you that if he was completely indifferent towards bronies before, then now he is at least moderately pleased with them. if not downright glad for bronies--because of the large volume of traffic and attention they have given him.

Lets face it, the majority of callers are going to be 4chan genuine trolls and not dedicated bronies, take the video's at face value of good comedy and don't feel bad because thats the entertainment business (as stated by many before me)

I just laugh at him. Seriously, it's hilarious what he comes out with. After my giggling, I ignore him. He isn't my problem, and thus I should not give a care about what he says.

Yes, this is the 3rd Ghost thread I've seen since I've been here, but before I share my views, I just want to comment on a few posts:

^ This! This! This!

^ This!!!

Just because someone has a southern accent doesn't make them ignorant.

I like and dislike this video at the same time. I like the song, but I dislike that a fairly well-known pony song artist made it, because it's not a really nice thing to do. It goes against what our community represents. Instead of "love and tolerance" this video is promoting, well, I wouldn't call it "hate," but it certainly isn't love. It's also not "tolerance," but antagonization.

That being said, I like this remix of that video. However, I feel bad for liking it because, as I mentioned, it isn't the brony way:

Anyway, I'm going to quote my post from the original topic about Ghost:

As you may have guessed by now, I'm not a big fan of Ghost, but I'm also not a fan of trolls. I'm especially do not think highly of any one from the brony community that actually calls him up to troll him. That's not the brony way. If anything, that is a disservice to yourself and our community because that goes against what "love and tolerance" is all about. By antagonizing Ghost, you're not promoting love and tolerance, but dislike and antagonization.

I doubt the so-called "bronies" trolling Ghost are actual bronies, but non-brony trolls using MLP:FiM as a way to annoy him. If they are bronies, then I'd be ashamed to call myself a brony, because I think we're better than that. I will never participate in trolling. I've never held a very positive view about it. I know Ghost is a jerk (I have a better word, but that'll probably get me banned), but that does not give us license to troll him. Have you heard of the saying, "Two wrongs don't make a right"? I think this is a great example of that.

As much as I disagree with Ghost's opinion of us, I'll still, at least, have the decency to not bother him about it. I listen in to his broadcast from the archives. I listened to him live once or twice, but outside of Radio Graffiti, it doesn't really interest me. I find the trolling to be amusing, especially the MLP:FiM content and Ghost's reactions to it, but, as I said, I don't think it's right to do that. Even someone as close-minded as he deserves some respect. For all I know, he may be really knowledgable in the realm of capitalism, but I doubt many take his show seriously. I'm sure there are a select few that do.

I also think Ghost is partly a troll himself. I'm not convinced that his reactions are genuine. If I remember correctly, on last night's broadcast, someone called in mentioning Ghost's reactions being an "act." Ghost, of course, said that accusation was ridiculous. No surprise there, but that contradicts what he claims about his racism. If it's not an act, then he must be racist, sexist and homophobic. He can't have it both ways. I have a good feeling the Engineer is a fake character that he made up as well because they never talk at the same time, and if you pay attention closely, him and the Engineer both sound similar. He also responds with the same lines over and over again, which include, but are not limited to:

"I'm not a racist!" - Ghost.
"I'm a melting pot of friendship! I'm a nice guy!" - Ghost.
"I have a bunch of friends that happen to be black. I have a bunch of friends that happen to be Mexican. I have a bunch of friends that happen to be Oriental." - Ghost.
"I'm jaded. I mean, I'm depressed!" - Ghost.

He also has a hatred for Canada, and makes homophobic remarks quite often. His game, "Guess The Minority"? No explanation required. I also wonder if he truly has all those cans in his studio. To me, the rustling of cans sounds identical each time, but I can't prove that. You'd need someone to analyze the audio to confirm it. I wouldn't be surprised if it's just an audio file (cans.wav?).

His reactions to the trolling are just too "perfect."

I have a funny feeling that he may like this attention. I know that sounds like a crazy theory, but think about it. The majority of his audience are probably trolls. If they truly are getting under his skin, why hasn't he just stopped with Radio Graffiti? Why doesn't he just disable the chat room? I know there have been times when he's disabled the chat, and won't do Radio Graffiti, but that's not the norm. Also, if he was truly upset, how could he remain in character as the Engineer (assuming it's an act, which I think is a reasonable assumption). In the end, he probably just wants as much viewers as possible so he can promote capitalism. If this theory turns out to be valid, then it's kinda sad, but at this point, I think that's the majority of the demographic that listen in.

As much as I find the trolling amusing— the MLP clips, quotes, audio splices and remixes, it's not really a nice thing to do, even if he may be somewhat deserving of it. I'll just be a listener. After all, it's not possible to convince Ghost to change his ways. I bet he's more stubborn than Applejack. I just listen in for a laugh, but I'll never participate, and I do not condone anyone here that participates in calling him. You should know better. If it's anything that MLP:FiM and the brony community have taught us, it should be love and tolerance. I think calling in and annoying Ghost is doing the exact opposite of that.

If you have called him in the past, which I read that some of you have, you really shouldn't anymore. I know I can't stop you, and chances are you probably don't care what I think, but know this: This trolling, not only by non-bronies, but by bronies as well, is not doing us any favors. We already have a few negative assumptions about our community, and we certainly don't need the word "brony" becoming synonymous with "troll."

ePONYmous I feel the need to point out that I like that song purely on the basis that it is, in my opinion, a good song, and not what it represents.

Anyway, I agree with basically everything you said. I do feel it's somewhat hypocritical, or at least contradictary, that people can claim to be part of a community that meets haters with love and tolerance, yet makes exceptions to someone because they have amusing reactions. It can only mean that either they take being a good person as an ironically humorous trait of watching My Little Pony, or it is having double standards. Surely, if they truly believe that the best way to deal with haters is to show love back, or at least ignorance, then trolling wouldn't even begin to come into it, especially not on the scale that it occurs.

However, I'm not sure on Ghost himself. As I said, he recently went live on his 150th show, so he's obviously happy to continue it. Maybe he's acting, maybe he likes the attentioni, or maybe he's just to proud to call it quits. Either way, he does what he does knowing the reception he will get. To be honest, it's actually irrelevant. If he's an attention *squee!*, then he should be ignored. If he's a genuine racist, homophobic, sexist brony hater, then he should still be ignored.

As stated, I will admit, I find some of what is said funny. That is, the joke itself. Rainbow Dash is best pony, what is Canada. That was funny. However, I don't find him getting stressed out and angry funny at all. Call me what you like, but I can't find entertainment in the suffering of others, deserved or not. I'm just bewildered as to how the same peoplee who express such love and happiness couod then go and do something like trolling. It makes no sense. The worst part is I don't believe it's just regular trolls jumping on the pony bandwagon for the sake of twisting the knife into Ghost, I actually believe it's those who fully immerse themselves into the culture and honestly believe what they're doing is right by their standards.

It's true what ePONYmous said, these people are doing no favours for the name of this community. As if we didn't have enough troubles as it is.

But hey, I can't stop anyone doing it, so go ahead. Just think about what you're doing before you do (even though I thought that went without saying for every action you ever take).

Don't worry, I figured that out on my own. I know from your previous post that you don't support antagonizing him. I like that song too, as well as the remix I posted, just because it's funny at face value. Other than that, as I already mentioned and in conjunction with what you just said, I don't particularly care for what they represent nor what they intend to do, and that's to tick Ghost off.

Well, after reading approximately five pages of anti-trolling text, I feel like I need to intervene for the sake of all my classy brethren.

First off, I have to say that many people have said that my morality is questionable, because of my periodic ruthlessness, me participation in a "bloodthirsty" sport (Fencing), and, of course, the occasional troll, among other things.

Now, I may be ruthless, and I do in fact partake in fencing, and sometimes intentionally turn an otherwise innocent conversation into a heated debate, but besides my law-enforcing nature, I treat the other two things as a sport, like they, in my opinion, should be.

A frequent saying is that "Trolling is a art". This is the main basis of my trolling code. Art is something that almost all can appreciate, and if only you are amused by this, then you most likely are doing something wrong. Most importantly, both the troll and the "victim" have to know what is going on, and in an ideal situation, it should end up being a show of wit, of reflexes, of knowledge even.

Of course, some define a troll as someone who intentionally angers others, then no, by no means do I troll. I find that kind of trolling unrefined and rather brutish. What is the point of using only words to anger someone to such a level where they can't appreciate a bout of wordplay due to rage? None. So, I try to keep my trolling level moderate.

Not every troll shares my opinion on this though, and sometimes you get a hater that just keeps on hating. THEN, and only then, is trolling your hardest any use, as you know they are a troll, and can tell when they are being trolled, and as such, can see the art involved.

Time to analyze the ghost in the machine then!

The show, from what I saw of it, is clearly an invitation. Ghost knows what reaction he will garner, he knows this full well, and spews forth a healthy combination of both trolling and troll bait. As such, other trolls are drawn to this like moths to a lamp, some knowing, some just falling for the bait. The result is a trollfest where everypony wins, because Ghost gets his lulz from watching his trap gather so many mad people, and the trolls feed him by feeding themselves.

The amount of class and thought that goes into this is of course another matter.

Personally, I would never troll like the trolls on Capitalist Radio do. I find this kind of trolling in very bad taste. If anything, the only good material I can get from this is a purely logical debate on his contradictions, which I believe you have to be trying to make in such a number.

So, in conclusion? I don't know how many bronies are trolls, and what kind they are. All I know is that True Capitalist Radio is a proving ground of sorts, and sadly, it is of the wrong kind, spreading the brutish trolls of the previous decade into a our new world just when the true sport of trolling and verbal jousting began to take hold.

Well not yet I didn't read...I only read the ending paragraph. I'll read the rest later on.

So I'll say "^ This"

I wonder if Ghost really likes the attention. Who knows. :derpe:

Ah cool, just had to clear that up. OCD has some strange effects on me.

I've maintained, and always will, I have literally no problem with trolls that leave you going

To be honest, it's often entertaining. It's as I said, some of what is said is really quite funny. However, it's when it's purely for the sake of stressing Ghost out, it's not so much the trolling you describe, it's just people jumping on a bandwagon of hating on someone. It's basically what Ghost is doing himself. I think the problem is, 'troll' is such an extensively used term now. Someone who creates some form of content with the intention of provoking some sort of reaction, whatever that may be, is what I judge to be the definition of a troll. Someone who actively harrasses someone knowing full well that the only reaction is going to be anger and stress is what I judge to be the definition of a douchebag, save for a better term.

Besides, I honestly don't believe it's possible to be a true troll without Kamina glasses anymore.
