Man, that is one sad-lookin' pony. Nice work. Haven't posted here in a while. Might be getting a tablet and new PC in March, so expect to see a lot more of me then.
Thanks, it took me forever. All the bright colors, I'm not used to it at all. For the last month I think I've drawn a little everyday. My goal is crappyunicorn style art.
Well, it's by no means finished, stating the obvious but w/e. I just felt like sharing anyway. I guess it's a little different to the usual fan art in that there's nopony to be found, instead I'm going for a literal interpretation of the land of Ponyville. The world in which the ponies of MLP:Fim live was just as important to getting me hooked on the show as the ponies themselves were. Anyway, pics... Source image 1st sketch 2nd sketch - adding more detail still need to finish the flora yet, oh how I hate drawing trees, so time consuming... It's a bit of a slow process learning how to draw digitally but I've pretty much got the basics down now
Gift for sleepy dreams I need sleep now to. If I wake up and it looks bad I'm redrawing it. End of story.
Thanks for the encouraging words they mean more than you probably realise. I have to admit though, previous attempts at drawing backgrounds weren't quite as successful, when I just tried to draw my own from scratch. With this though I traced the original making modifications as I went, then traced again making more changes and adding detail. I find that having the basics already done for you not only familiarises you with the basics of drawing landscapes (due to tracing over) but it also alleviates the need to work out how to structure the drawing letting you focus on playing and experimenting with the elements rather then constructing them. Which is basically a long winded way of saying I think it's a great way to practice, and the clean lines that come with MLP's style makes it really easy to get started. I like the new pic by the way, I've been seeing a few of your pieces around lately, and they've kind of 'captured' me in a way. Not really sure how to explain it :derpe: Your style (from what I've seen anyway) is such the polar opposite of mine that to see new pictures is quite interesting to say the least.
Well thank you. I will redraw that picture. I don't like it. I'm still new to whole ponies and positions though. The fact that I captured you with me pictures is awesome. I always like when people like me art.
That pony in your sig looks very awesome. I can't draw humans at all. I wish I could draw anime stlye.
