Looks like this one is putting the Scare element back in. No More 5-Stuff. Time for Action with awesome scares~
Scares you say. Like you mean it might be scary again. I don't believe it. Maybe I'll keep an ear open for info.
If they can balance the creepiness of 4 to the action of 5, I'll be extremely happy. I just want an HD Remake of RE3: Nemesis. I want to have Nightmares again, is what I want!
Well, I never deal with scary games all that well, A few of them being fatal frame, deadspace and penumbra. But going back to the roots to make a scary game what it used to be is better then what they were doing.
As much as I liked Resident Evil 4, and it is nice to see Capcom working to build upon that new foundation they discovered back then, I really don't like seeing them rehash it over and over again. This game honestly looks like it will be loads of fun, but unfortunately it will most likely be a half-rate game. The reason behind this is the fact that they decided to implement three separate campaigns. While this is nice to get a view from new perspectives the same could also be done with a simple cutscene or two and even a series of notes, which is exactly what they did in Resident Evil 4. The problem with this, is that with three separate campaigns they will naturally have to spread the game extremely thin. It won't really feel like playing one whole game but instead playing three hastily made one. A good example of this would be Alien vs. Predator. Though the game will probably bomb, I am interested in how they're using the Leon Campaign to attract the classic crowd, the Chris Campaign to appeal to modern gamers, and that other guy to experiment for future games in general. In short, the Chris part will undoubtedly be horrid, the Leon portion will be fun but short, and that other guy's section is a wild card, though I doubt it will have a horror element as you're using melee
Call me weird, but I LOVED RE5. I love ALL of the games, 3 will always be my favorite (Do an HD Remake, CAPCOM!), but 5 is me "Least Liked" of the games, but I had extremely great fun with it. IMO 3, 4, 2, 1, 5. 1 Goes over 5 because of Jill Sandwiches.
third guy i think i.ll have fun as not just for awesome look what can be better then beating a giant zombie to death-agian with kung fu?
Oh I loved it too, it just felt like it was trying too hard to be like RE4 instead of being it's own game really. If it had taken place a night, focused on a horror element rather than a desperate struggle element, and got rid of the enemies with machine guns (Except for JJs), it would have probably been a much better game. Then again, pulling off a horror game with coop wasn't the brighteat move on their part. One of the things that makes so many games scary is the isolation that they put you in.
For instance, Dead Space wouldn't be nearly as scary if you were partnered up with an annoying Dumb-Flank of an AI named Sheva.
while in 4 you had to protect a useless AI who dose nothing and make you lose the game if she dies 4 really dose force you to keep a close eye on your surroundings while in 5 its..... sorta the same but the not entirely as useless AI but close
I loved RE5 as well, sure it wasn't in your face scary, but it had a lot of tension (for example, the item menu doesn't pause the game). I'm really looking forward to this game, playing different people in different locations and gameplay is interesting. I believe that new guy is Alex Wesker, his combat seems similar to that of Albert Wesker's and there's something special about his blood. I'm really surprised how much they revealed, its been in development for two years and we had no idea. Can't wait!
I'm sorry, but it's hard to take this game seriously when the logo looks like a giraffe receiving "services" from a young lady: Spoiler: NSFW http://kotaku.com/5878345/youll-never-see-the-resident-evil-6-logo-the-same-way/gallery/1 View attachment 2804
the first part of the trailer with leon made the game look like it would return to the scary theme of past games but then chris came in and turned it into an action thiller. Like some of you said, looks like it will have several different styles of gameplay. I hope its balanced. I would perfer it be more horror/suspense than action.
