"It's really not. I mean, sure, it's fun sometimes... and I did meet my best friend when she started taking classes... but it's just so mundane."
"I can see that. Ever thought about being a town guard some? Wouldn't be the same, but I'm sure it'd be something."
"Ponyville doesn't have town guards, and I'm content at the dojo." She sighed. "I think it's for the best that I just stay where I am. Being impulsive doesn't usually end well for me."
"Well, since you're fine at the dojo, maybe I can come keep you company while you teach me a few things?"
"She taught me to be reactive instead of agressive. So... you know, come at me." She stepped back and patted her chest.
Nightshade sighed. "Fine, but only because I know I can't hurt you here." She threw a quick punch, without much power behind it. It was the sort of strike she used for sparring with intermediate students.
Raven deflected the blow with her foreleg as she threw her hoof towards Night's throat at lightning speed, fully expecting her to block it, merely wishing to illustrate that she did know some things.
Nightshade let the strike hit her, to get a gauge of Raven's strength. "Not *cough* bad," she said. "You're telegraphing your strikes a bit, but you've got good form. Felt a little light, though. Were you holding back?"
"Fair enough. We're near the food court, you wanna get something to eat? I wasn't joking when I said this place has the best frozen yogurt in the multiverse."
"Probably, but I prefer the strawberry. Last time I was here, they had over seven hundred flavors that weren't toxic to Equestrians."
Nightshade led her to the yogurt shop, and they got in line behind several small gray humanoids with large black eyes. A small mechanical device popped out from behind the counter and scanned them, and the menu board changed to show Equestrian writing.
"Hey." Raven took a second to look over the menu. "I'll take a small s̸̨̢̥̰̠̳̮̫͈͕̺̙ͭ̑͒̋̌͠ͅa̳̟̰̠͔̲̗̙̫̺͕̼͈̱ͮ̿͂̈́ͫ̓̀̕n̥̪̱̻̫̖̰͈̪͉̤ͥ͋ͭ̈̚̕͡a̷̸̍̓͒̊̄ͭ̍̐ͦ̉̋ͨ͊̈́͂ͨ͑̚͏̹̩͖̱͓̣̣͉̀͠t̷̢͚͙͓̮̠̦̰͍͈͈͕̭̩̖̦̝̎̎̊͛̚͘ͅa̡̝̮͕͚ͮͦ̊ͬ̕s͔̜͍̥̓̀̃ͭ̓̔̄ͧ̄ͮ͊̊̔͌̆ͨ͗͢ and strawberry."
"You're getting better at that," Nightshade commented. "Medium strawberry with a dark chocolate swirl. And put them both on my card."
