“Will do,” she murmured quietly, heading for the door. She rested her hand on the doorknob and hesitated before looking back at him with a playful smile. “Thank you for helping me with my wing. It feels much better.”
“Mmhm. You tried to touch them knowing full well what it implied.” She shook her head, clucking her tongue disapprovingly. “Shame on you, Sam. Shame.”
“I have been warned not to trust humans,” she teased, shaking her head as she hovered in midair. “Evidently I didn’t take it seriously enough.”
She looked over her shoulder and raised an eyebrow, her eyes interested. “Are you one of the bad ones?”
“Hm,” she said with a small smile, stepping out into the sunshine. “I’ll trust you then. I’ll see you soon, okay?”
