He hesitated before nodding slowly, resting his head against the arm of the chair. “A little. I haven’t been sleeping much lately.”
She slid onto the floor, moving closer to his face as she cocked her head. "Do you think you'll sleep tonight?"
He blinked in surprise, studying her. His violet eyes deepened at the edges but in the center, they were almost lavender, tracing her face thoughtfully. “I’m not sure.”
He tensed instantly, his eyes widening as his hand came up, almost as if to stop her, but he didn’t move, remaining still.
He reached out hesitantly and brushed her silvery hair out of her face. “You’re...” He laughed breathily before pulling away quickly. “You’re so, so pretty, Tez.”
He laughed lowly, a soft chuckle in the back of his throat. "Yeah. But sirens are known for being beautiful enough to lure people to their deaths. To be beautiful even when compared to other sirens... I think that's a good thing."
He hesitated before giving her a small smile and offering his hand. "No, siren. Don't worry. You should sleep, though."
He led her to the bedroom and opened the door with his hip, his free hand in his pocket. The blankets were pulled back and the side lamp was on.
