He came back about ten minutes later, his blonde hair damp. He wore a white button up shirt and trousers, and he fixed the button on his sleeve as he studied her. “Thank you for staying last night.”
"I should probably head out soon," he said, rubbing the back of his neck. "I need to go back onto the field."
He bit his lip, studying her for a moment before gently brushing her hair out of her face. "You're welcome to stay in the meantime," he told her. "Just lock the door before you leave."
"You're going to be without me either way," he replied. "At least it's comfortable here. But it's up to you."
He watched her for a moment before his gaze flickered away and he headed for the door, slinging his bag over his shoulder.
He hesitated, looking as if he wanted to say something, before he sighed and turned away, heading for the door.
