She looked down, returning to the bed and burying her face in the pillows, taking his distinct scent.
Tez had left his apartment, changing back into her own clothes and neatly folding his shirt she had borrowed.
Tez had gone to Miko, and was resting her head on the bed as Miko ran her hand through her hair soothingly.
He was quiet for a long time as he headed back towards the center. The birds overhead cawed angrily and he glared up at them. “I know. I know.”
Rowan entered the room, his face drawn. He noticed Tez and his expression grew sad. “Is she upset with me?”
Miko looked up, her face surprisingly gentle. "She's not upset. She was just worried about you and felt bad."
“She shouldn’t be,” he said, coming over to them and hesitating before brushing her hair out of her face. “It wasn’t her fault.”
