She beamed, sneaking a quick kiss on his cheek. "I'm glad you think so. The Tree is our center. Most of the pixies live here, we're taught here, we're born here... There's a lot of faith associated with it."
"It depends," she said with a shrug as they entered the Tree. The chamber they entered was large and light streamed in from the outside, illuminating the wooden floor. Orbs made up of what looked like glowing cobwebs floated peacefully through the air, revealing intricate carvings crawling up the walls. There was a lift on the side and Eden led him to it, her hand in his. "I mean, humans have individual homes too, right? You'll see what I mean."
"I... see." The lift began to rise with them on it. She shrugged, looking up. "Mine is one of the lower branches, out on the edge."
She beamed at him. "Me too." The lift grounded to a halt and she stepped out of an archway onto a large branch, with a gate along the side, the sun stirring through the leaves. Various houses could be seen along the branch, buried in various twists within the bark. "Mine's on the end," Eden said, stepping out onto the moss covered surface.
His bright expression paled as he looked off to the side before straightening his gaze and hurrying along. "The end?"
"Mm," she said brightly, looking back at him before reaching a hand towards him. "It has a lovely view."
She led him forward for a while until a small cottage loomed in the distance. It was an interesting shape; it had a roof, and it had a flat floor, but the middle almost was spherical. Dark green vines of ivy climbed up the light yellow walls and the air smelled vaguely of honeysuckle and lilac, the source evident from the white and purple flowers surrounding the stairs to the door. She climbed the stairs, tucking her hair behind her ear and nudging open the door with her hip, turning to him. "It might be a little bit of a mess..."
She gave him a small smile before opening the door and heading inside. The house was mainly one big room with two floors. The curving staircase had branches that made up the railing, and underneath the balcony was a small, but cozy kitchen. A small table with a couple of chairs was close to a large window, and a fireplace was nestled inside the wall, presumably for the winters. Up the stairs there was a circular window that took up most of the wall, overlooking the entire Glen. Eden's bed was a mattress on the floor next to the window with a large, cream bedspread over top of it. The second floor had bookshelves lining the walls and if he looked closely, he would notice that there were several nooks in the walls with blankets and a stack of books. It was decorated with paintings, most of them watercolors, that had been hung with mismatched clothspins on twine. Small lights were everywhere, bringing a warm glow to the area.
