She beamed, closing the door behind her. "I'm glad you think so," she said warmly, floating up to her bed and hastily trying to arrange the sheets in a more organized fashion. "I'm sorry it's a bit of a mess..."
She grinned and flew down, landing next to him lightly. Opening her mouth to say something, she was quickly cut off by a knock on the door. Her eyes widened with alarm. "That'll be the Alyndar. Quick, hide."
He would hear the door open and Eden's voice ring brightly. "Hello, Alyndar!" "Eden," he would hear. It was a woman's voice, low and stern, but with a glimmer of relief in it. "Where were you? I was worried." Eden hesitated for a moment before grinning at her sheepishly. "I'm sorry. I was with Sam and I lost track of time." Sam would hear a heavy sigh from the woman. "Eden... you know why it's important that we keep our distance, yes?" "Yes, Alyndar." "This... Sam. You may think he's your friend and perhaps he is, but he is also human and they are not to be trusted. I don't want to see you getting hurt." "I won't, Alyndar," Eden replied quietly. "I'm sorry for missing check in." There was a silence before the woman made a clucking noise with her tongue. "Very well. Get some sleep. You must be tired." "Thank you, Alyndar. I'll see you tomorrow." The door shut and Eden was quiet for a moment before he would hear her come to the closet. "Sam? You can come out now."
Her bright laugh would be heard as she opened the closet door. "Come now. Don't be like that. She's just worried."
She yelped in surprise and amusement as she fell back, laughing deeply as her arms wrapped around his neck. "Gah! How could you?!"
She pulled away after a moment, her forehead resting on his before she shifted, heading into the kitchen.
