He let go when they got to the kitchen and pulled out the coffee maker with one hand, yawning and rubbing the back of his neck with the other. “Alright, Tez. First thing we’re going to do is make sure the machine has enough water.”
He pulled out some coffee grounds from the cupboard and brought out an old tin measuring cup before kissing the top of her head. “Okay. Go ahead and level out a scoop of the espresso.”
He gave her an encouraging smile. “Now you must recite a chant,” he said brightly, placing his hand over the machine. His jaw went slack and his eyes rolled back in his head and he began muttering rapidly.
