Rowan entered the medical center, his gaze landing lightly on Miko as he approached. "I'm supposed to check on you."
"Are you?" he asked casually, leaning against the wall with folded arms. "Tez will kill me if I'm not positive."
He was quiet for a moment before clearing his throat. "Right. What does... uh... 'te'ukei rez' mean?"
"Yeah," he said slowly, his brow furrowing. "Is it bad? Does she..." He hesitated before looking up at her. "Is it bad?"
He looked stricken, his eyes wide. He stared at her for a moment, seeming to have a hard time understanding before he spoke. "...really?"
He looked down at the floor, his brow furrowed before he turned slightly. "I gotta go see her. Thanks, Miko."
He left the room and turned the corner, leaning back against the wall. He was quiet for a moment, tilting his head to look up at the ceiling, before he shook his head and hurried home.
