He entered the room and hesitated, his gaze landing upon Tez gently. He sighed, walking over to her and kneeling down next to her, inspecting her face.
Her eyelashes fanned across her cheek, and a light strands of hair fell across her face. The gills on her neck were closed, leaving only lines that were barely noticeable. She had sharp fingernails, painted as silver as her eyes. The cold fingers that her head rested again became webbed when she swam, but they appeared normal at the time.
He studied her before sighing, reaching forward and tapping the tip of her nose. "Miss Siren, it's time to wake up."
"Up. You need to wake up," he said sternly. He stood up, looking down at her. "Your friend is going to have to stay here overnight."
"Yes, overnight," he said, ignoring the second part of her question, his hands on his hips. "For more testing."
He looked down at her, frowning. "You can," he said, clearly confused. "Unless you plan on staying here? What's the problem?"
"I did. I didn't know how else to wake you up," he replied flatly. "We don't know each other that well."
