Eden turned to look at him, her brow furrowed. "Should we fly there, or...?" He watched her lovingly, his hand coming up to rest on her jaw. "What about half and half? Fly a little bit and walk some too? It won't be long until you can fly on your own, you know." She pursed her lips before kissing him, her arms wrapping around his neck. "Fine. We can do that." He smiled slightly as he pulled away, taking her hand and pulling her into the air.
When he arrived, he would see that Briar was conjuring branches from the ground, building a roof in the meadow. Eden was leaning against a tree, one brow raised.
He finished the roof and glanced over at him with a raised brow before sighing. "Well, it's almost night, so I made us a roof. We can all fit underneath it for the night before tomorrow."
Sam laid out a small blanket to lay on in his own area. "It's fine. A good roof, I'll admit, but I'm fine on my own."
Eden glared at him, crossing her arms. "Stop being overly dramatic and sleep under the damn roof, Sam."
"Don't tell me what to do, Eden. It's not like you care anyways. You could even stay here tomorrow, but instead you're choosing to go into danger."
"I don't care about you, but he made the roof because he believes it's important to be kind to everyone, even scum like you." "Eden," Briar interjected, a hand on her arm, "he's helping us. It's okay. He doesn't have to sleep under the roof." "Don't trust him," she replied, her gaze sharp on his. "I'm not convinced that we won't arrive at the college and be instantly surrounded."
"Then stay here! Stay here, Eden. That's what I want. That's what I'm telling you. If you don't trust me than stay here or go home. I could give you your wings back right now and you could go home and away from here."
"I'm not a coward. Not like you. I care about my people and if there's a chance to return what was taken from them, I'll take it," she said, her voice dangerously low. She turned away from him and sat on the ground underneath the roof. "Come on. Let's just go to sleep."
