He grumbled as they approached a large wooden door and he opened it, entering a small, but comfortable apartment. The walls were painted a gentle grey and the place was neat, chairs pushed in and blankets folded over the arm of the sofa. A large, circular window was in the center of the wall, letting in moonlight. He lit a match, his eyes almost glowing in the sudden light, and went to turn on the lantern, his lips pursed. The wooden floors were swept and clean and the apartment seemed false, almost as if no one truly lived there.
"Mine," he confirmed flatly, tugging his bag off his shoulder. Without looking at her, he pointed down the hallway. "Bathroom's on the left. Bedroom's on the right. Just... don't make a mess, alright?" He sat down on the couch with a tired sigh, closing his eyes and tipping his head back.
She looked embarrassed. "I don't mind staying in the waiting room.. Really. I wouldn't want to intrude on your business any more than I already have."
"Just go, Siren," he said flatly without opening his eyes. "I'm already down here and you're already in my apartment. Use the damn bed."
She looked down, her hand drifting along the wall for a moment as she began to walk to the bedroom. After a moment, she paused. "My name is Tez, by the way.. I told you, but I'm not sure if you remember it."
A small smile crossed his face and he opened one eye, glancing at her. "I know, Tez. However, I didn't tell you my name and you use it. I'm only doing the opposite as payback."
His low chuckle would follow her down the hallway. His bedroom was simple, but a large window looked out onto the forest, dark and uninviting. His sheets were grey and an oak desk sat in the corner, the only things on top of it being a lantern, ink, and a quill and a strange stack of papers. On the bedside table, there were a few books, although they seemed slightly dusty. It was clear that he hadn't been here in a while.
Tez sat on the edge of the bed, her brows furrowed. She felt.. out of place, and as if she were asking too much of him. Nonetheless, she laid back on top of the covers, shutting her eyes. It didn't take long to fall into a dreamless sleep.
Tez woke early, sitting up and brushing her hair back. She frowned, standing. She looked around, before making the bed and cleaning up a bit. When she was done, she headed into the main room, her intent to leave. She paused for a moment, observing Rowan.
His face was almost peaceful in sleep, his expression relaxed. She would be able to see that his face was actually naturally kind without its usual frown and his lips were slightly parted as he breathed in and out steadily. His blonde hair was messy and in the early morning light, it was almost white. At this proximity, she would find that he smelt vaguely of citrus and pine.
Rowan was awoken by her movement and shifted sleepily, blinking tiredly as the sun hit his face. He sat up on his arms, yawning. "...Siren? Tez?"
