Rowan was asleep on the dock, his head resting on his bag as a cool breeze blowing in from the sea ruffled his hair. Around him was some loose pieces of charcoal and a pad of paper that was resting under his hand.
She pulled herself up, wincing slightly. Her head cocked curiously at the paper, and she moved his hand slightly.
Her head cocked slightly with curiosity at the sketches as her tail changed again, this time a bit slower. She leaned down to kiss his cheek, her eyes soft.
He frowned in sleepy confusion, waking up quickly to her touch, his eyes fluttering open. "Siren...?"
His hand came up to rest on the side of her face and he studied her. "Can you describe the people who attacked you?"
She nodded slowly. "There was three of them.. One was tall and had a beard and black hair with a scar across his eyebrow. The other one was shorter, but his hair was a little long and brown and he had dark eyes. The last one was tall and thin and reminded me of a spider." She frowned. "He had short brown hair."
He had a good poker face, but he was silent after she was finished explaining before he pulled her forward in an embrace. "I'm so sorry, Tez."
She buried her face in her shoulder, her arms around him. She was shaking, but said nothing about it. "I brought you something.."
"It was on the way.. Don't worry." She reached back and grabbed an aquamarine dagger, made from sea glass. The handle was wrapped carefully in cloth, and shaky designs were etched into the side of the perfectly sharp blade.
He took it carefully, his pointer finger tracing the carvings in the side. "It's beautiful," he said quietly, his gaze thoughtful. "Did you make it?"
He looked up at her, his face affectionate. "It's beautiful, Siren," he said, kissing his cheek before passing it back to her reluctantly. "How long ago did you make it?"
