"Sure, sure," he mumbled, rubbing his eyes before sitting up and heading to the kitchen sleepily, his hair disheveled.
"Embarrassing?" he asked lowly, raising one eyebrow. "Did you break something? That'd be pretty rude, you know."
"Hmph," he said, squinting at her, his violent eyes studying her as if trying to pry the secret from her. "Fine. Go see your friend or something."
He frowned before returning to the cupboard, pulling out a loaf a bread and setting it on the counter. He was quiet the entire time, feeling as if the apartment had lost a little bit of its life.
Tez stayed with Mikö when she could, only leaving if she had to. She usually sat in a chair, her head in her hand.
A cure had yet to be found and Mikö was being tested on frequently, blood being drawn and reactions being tested.
Rowan passed beyond the window, not noticing Tez. He spoke to Lark in a quiet voice, dropping his bag on the desk and beginning to pull out samples.
Tez moved forward to rest her forehead on the edge of bed. "Mikö.. Why'd it have to be you that got sick? I care more for you than anyone else and now I fear for your life. I could never see you in such a place. We used to go exploring.."
Rowan pulled out an algae plant and tapped on it with his finger. Lark took it curiously and studied it, pursing her lips thoughtfully.
