He shook his head, opening the window and sticking his head out to get fresh air. "It is. I'll stay here."
He took a deep breath before turning to her and sitting on the edge of the bed, taking her hands in his. "My dad was an ambassador," he said quietly.
"Yeah," he said with a nod. "He was in charge of relations between humans and elves. He believed that there could be peace between the two species. We lived in a human neighborhood when I was young and we got attacked one night and held hostage for a while. That's all. I just... I don't like talking about it."
He nodded, taking her hand that was on his face and setting it back down on the mattress. "I'm fine. It's not a big deal. It's just something that happened."
She looked back before sitting on the edge of the bed. "No, Row. You didn't mess up at all." She tried to move to pillow. "It's just good to have room to breathe."
He took it and pulled her to him gently. "You're so sweet. No, siren, I don't think that's a good idea. You're scared of storms, remember?"
