She frowned, watching him carefully. “The boogeyman is going to cut off our wings,” she said with a frown. “Cut off our wings and burn down our home. That’s what Rose said.”
His smile immediately faded, and he pulled away to stand up. "Yes, well.. Rose is wrong and he doesn't exist."
She hesitated before pulling him into a hug, her arms wrapping around his waist and her chin resting on his shoulder. "You're not the boogeyman," she said quietly. "Okay?"
