“What if it hurts you, Tez?” he asked, his low voice growing tight with panic. “I can’t have you get hurt because of this... thing.”
He looked up at her, his eyes plaintive. "Would you..." He hesitated before shaking his head, lying down on the bed. "Nevermind."
"I..." He rubbed the back of his neck embarrassedly. "I wanted to know if you would lay down next to me. But it's probably not a good idea."
He sighed, looking down at her, his brow furrowed. "I don't know how I'm going to gather the materials if I can't leave."
He shook his head, his hand resting on her upper arm. "It's dangerous, especially if you've never done it before."
