He glared at her before standing up, pulling away, stumbling slightly but heading for the door. "I can't believe you," he said viciously. "I ask one thing."
He followed her a little unsteadily, his hand to his head. The world swam in front of his eyes, and he shook his head to clear it. "You're trying to storm away, but it's not going to work. You can't go out there. I won't let you."
"I certainly can," he growled back, his eyes glassy and unfocused. "Especially if you're about to put your *squee!*ing life in danger."
She flinched as he swore at her, and she took a shuddery breath. "Don't talk to me like that that, Rowan. Stop.. D-Don't talk to me like that."
He glared at her, his face fierce and stern. Slowly, all the resolve fell from his face and he leaned against the nearest wall, seeming unable or unwilling to support himself. "I can't..." he mumbled, sliding to the floor. "I can't... let you...die..."
Her expression immediately changed to worry, and she put her arms under his for support. "Rowan? Rowan? I'm going to get you back into bed, okay? I.. I won't go anywhere. I'm staying here with you."
"No, no," he mumbled, shooing her back. "If you... if you get me to the bed... you... you're gonna... you're gonna leave me... I can't... I can't let you leave me..."
"Right now? You're... you're funny, Tez," he said with a dry laugh, slumping down further. "You won't leave now, but you're going to leave later."
"No," he said stubbornly, waving a hand at her vaguely. "Not until you promise to not... to not go. Don't go looking for materials, don't go do anything that I used to do. You gotta... you gotta promise me."
He nodded slowly before attempting to stand up, stumbling quickly. "Ach. This is... going to be difficult. Are you sure I can't stay here?"
Tez moved quickly, supporting him gently. She still seemed upset, not meeting his gaze. "You can't stay here, Rowan. I'm going to help you back to your bed."
"No, Tez," he mumbled tiredly, leaning his head back. "Look at the ceiling. If I'm going to die in here, I don't want to die under fluorescent lights. You know? I don't... That's not the way I want to go."
