"I can't keep getting pushed away every time I try to come forward. I thought we were okay.. I t-thought.."
He hesitated, looking uncomfortable, before he took a deep breath and gently pulled her into his lap, his arms wrapping around her.
She was shaking. "I don't know what you feel. I don't mean to manipulate you. I.. You don't want me here and now this.. I don't know what to think.."
“Calm down, siren,” he murmured. “You’re overthinking this all. Has it ever crossed your mind that I might just be an ass?”
She gripped his arm, burying her face in his shoulder. "You didn't talk to me for days. I thought you hated me. I t-thought you didn't love me."
He gave her a look. “Come on, siren. I may not know much, but even I know that’s not how relationships work.”
He shook his head. “I just came from there. Some guards found me in the woods, I guess. Brought me back here.”
“Mm. I was just kinda... wandering around, I guess. They figured I wasn’t fit for being out in the woods, so they brought me here.”
She watched him for a moment before sighing. "Can we.. go back to your apartment? I've missed you a lot."
