Ruh Roh (One on One)

She frowned at him, raising an eyebrow.

"What do you mean?"

 

She laughed out loud in surprise, grinning at him.

"Oh, dear Lyri! You're a... what are they called... a nerd!"

 

She seemed surprised, her eyes reflecting her confusion.

"You made me a sandwich?"

 

She gave him a small, uncertain smile.

"Pixie. That's really sweet of you, though."

 

She shrugged, a little unsure, but she gave him a small smile.

"It's alright, Sam. I'm used to it."

 

"Oh, you know. We're pretty similar to humans. We're all vegetarian, actually. We eat a lot of fruit and nuts. Apparently, we don't eat a ton."

 

She squinted at him, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear.

"I don't think I've actually had human prepared food before."

 

She frowned, taking it hesitantly. She eyed the bread suspiciously.

“Is it... good?”

 

She tried it tentatively, chewing thoughtfully. She was quiet for a moment before taking another small bite.

 

“This is... a new experience,” she said eventually, glancing at him. “We don’t eat a lot of bread within our community.”
