"Me too," he said warmly. The market was filled with busy people, all moving from booth to booth in search of things. The businesses ranged from potion ingredients to desserts.
She looked around, her golden eyes wide with awe. A few people would give her looks as she passed, but for once she didn't notice. "Whoa..." she murmured, her head swiveling this way and that as she tried to take in everything. "There's... so much to see. How do you manage?"
She looked at him with a wide smile, her eyes bright. "This is... crazy. There's so much to look at!"
She looked around thoughtfully before her gaze returned to his. "I see." "Flower for the lady?" a boothowner called out. Eden turned her head to look, her eyes wide with interest.
Her brows furrowed, she looked up at the salesman in confusion. "Why do you cut the flowers if I can enjoy them in nature?" she asked curiously. The man started when he noticed her eyes and looked to Sam for an explanation.
"I guess," she said, perplexed. She yelped as she felt a tug on the cape, grabbing it before it managed to slip off completely.
The shopkeeper had a foot on the edge of her cloak with a suspicious look in his eye as he studied her.
Sam hesitated, a strange look crossing his face as he raised his arm and pushed the man back a step. "What do you think you're doing?"
"Humans don't have that eye color," he barked loudly, drawing the attention of nearby customers. He continued forward, trying to get back to Eden. "She's not human at all, is she? What is she hiding under that cloak of hers? Scales? Teeth? Wings?"
Sam stood between them, but he seemed oddly distracted. He glanced at the flower stand, but back at the shopkeeper. "It wouldn't matter if they were any of those things." A few seconds later, her looked back at the stand and his eyes widened. "Is that a fire?!"
